A focal plane shutter has a base plate provided with a shutter opening, opening and closing sector groups each having a plurality of sectors, and a plurality of arms each having one end pivotally supported on the base plate so as to pivotally connect and support the sectors through connecting pins to form a parallel link mechanism. Each of the connecting pins has a tapered portion or a flange having a diameter small enough to prevent the action of each sector from being hindered when any of the sectors becomes interposed between any of the remaining sectors or an arm supporting the sector and any of the other sectors. Each of the arms may also have a reduced thickness portion proximate the connecting pin corresponding thereto to thereby prevent movement of the interposed sector from being hindered.

Plane shutter

A focal plane shutter comprises a base plate having a shutter opening, at least one shutter sector group having sectors, and arms pivotally connected to and supporting the sectors for displacing the sectors relative to the shutter opening. At least a first one of the sectors comprises an intermediate sector interposed between a second one of the sectors and one of the arms connected to and supporting the second sector. The intermediate sector has an edge portion disposed proximate a connection of the second sector and the arm connected to and supporting the second sector. At least the edge portion of the intermediate sector is thinner than other portions thereof to facilitate smooth displacement of the sectors relative to the shutter opening without any obstruction.

Focal plane shutter

An active type range finder apparatus comprises a light projecting element having a base, a lead frame disposed on the base, at least one light emitting member disposed on the lead frame for emitting light to a subject, and at least one control terminal disposed on the base for controlling the light emitting member. A light receiving element is disposed at a base length from the light projecting element for receiving light reflected by the subject. The lead frame and the control terminal of the light projecting element have end portions arranged outside an extension region of the light emitting member in a direction of the base length. When the light emitting member is illuminated, scattered light is prevented from being projected within the extension region of the light emitting member in the direction of the base length, thereby preventing distance measurement errors.

Range finder apparatus

A data processing device for a camera wherein a parity bit is provided in data of an EEPROM, and when a parity error is caused by destruction of data or the like, data previously prepared in a ROM is employed, or when data before and after a specific abnormal data are normal, an interpolation calculation is performed by using these normal data. When data memorized in the EEPROM are destructed by an unexpected accident such as by static electricity, the data are prevented from using and picture taking can be continued without applying a serious influence on the picture-taking operation by performing an approximation calculation by using the other normal data memorized in the ROM.

Data processing device for a camera

A motor driven shutter by which various operational modes are freely selectable and photographing timing is shortened includes springs and a motor arranged in a manner freely selectable as driving forces for opening and closing the shutter and are combined or selected corresponding to the operational mode. The photographing timing is shortened by operating in parallel an F number setting operation and a focus adjusting operation. Various modes may be selected according to the photographing purpose, and the photographing timing may be shortened.

Motor driven shutter having focus adjusting and stop setting means

A motor driven shutter is activated by a single motor whose clockwise and counterclockwise rotations may be controlled. The motor driven shutter includes a driving member whose clockwise and counterclockwise rotations are controlled by the motor and having first and second control portions. An opening member is activated by the first control portion; and an opening spring biases the opening member in the direction of opening the shutter. A first electromagnet controls the activation timing of the opening member and resists the bias of the opening spring. A closing member is activated by the second control portion; and a closing spring biases the closing member in the direction of closing the shutter. A second electromagnet constrains the activation timing of the closing member and resists the bias of the closing spring. A selecting circuit selects excitation and demagnetization of the first and second electromagnets, the selecting circuit controlling a plural time excitation or demagnetization of the first and second electromagnets to carry out shutter opening and closing operations by the opening member and the closing member.

Motor driven shutter activated by single motor having controllable

A camera remote control device locally displays information that is derived in the camera. A remote control beam is transmitted from a remote control unit and received by a photo detector on the camera through a light intercepting lens. The received signal is processed in an arithmetic circuit and a CPU and a confirming signal is returned from a light emitting diode in the camera to a receiving circuit in the remote device, as a completion signal. The remote device is responsive to the completion signal to display the state of the camera.

A drive mechanism for a camera having a lens including a drive member, a motor for driving the drive member in a clockwise and a counterclockwise direction, a range setting device operated by the drive member operable to effect movement of a lens member to a plurality of positions corresponding to a plurality of focused positions of the lens when the drive member is rotated by the motor, an exposure actuation device operable upon actuation to effect exposure operation of the camera, and actuating cams on the drive member for actuating the exposure actuation device as the range setting device maintains a focused position of the lens.

Apparatus for performing an automatic focus/exposure operation for a camera includes a drive member driven by a motor, a distance member for driving a lens focusing mechanism during a lens focusing operation in correspondence with movement of the drive member in a first direction, a retaining pawl for engaging the distance member means to prevent reverse movement of the distance member means upon completion of the lens focusing operation, and a blade opening/closing mechanism for opening blades during an exposure operation when the drive member moves in a second direction which is opposite to the first direction of the focusing operation, the blade opening/closing mechanism shifting the exposure operation quickly upon completion of the lens focusing operation.

Automatic focus/exposure operation apparatus for camera

A camera capable of multiple exposure photography. The camera has a lens shutter for performing a programmed exposure operation and a diaphragm-adjusting operation and a focal-plane shutter. The camera further includes a first selector means and a second selector means. The operation mode of the camera is switched between a lens shutter mode and a focal-plane shutter mode by the first selector means. In the lens shutter mode, the lens shutter is operated as a programmed shutter. In the focal-plane shutter mode, the shutter speed and the aperture are controlled by the focal-plane shutter and the lens shutter, respectively. The second selector means establishes a multiple exposure photographic mode. Also, the second selector means sets up the lens shutter mode irrespective of the setting of the first selector means.
