A starter driving semiconductor switch apparatus energizes and de-energizes a starter according to a command from an outside. A series circuit to which semiconductor switches are connected in series is provided between a battery serving as a power supply and the starter. The starter is energized by bringing all the semiconductor switches into conduction. A voltage or a current at a predetermined point in the series circuit is monitored to make a self-diagnosis on whether the starter is allowed to start and whether there is a failure in the semiconductor switches according to a monitor output. The starter driving semiconductor switch apparatus is thus expected to have a longer useful life by energizing the starter not by using mechanical contacts but by using semiconductor switches.

A moving body starting system includes: a moving-body-mounted unit mounted in a moving body moved by an engine; a portable unit carried by a user performing radio communication with the mounted unit; an operation switch provided on a moving body side and outputting an operation signal to the mounted unit upon user's operation; a steering unlocking unit unlocking a steering lock mechanism provided on the moving body side; and a moving body power supply control unit provided on the moving body side to perform control on power supply to an engine control device of the moving body, in which the mounted unit includes: an authentication unit performing an authentication processing by radio communication with the portable unit; and an operation control unit, after the authentication, causing at least one of the unlocking unit and the power supply control unit to perform a predetermined processing base on the input operation signal.

Moving body starting system

To dispense with a key cylinder and permit or stop operation of an engine with ease, an engine starting system of the present invention comprises a power source activation unit, an engine control unit, a propelled-object-side equipment, a steering wheel locking unit, a switch, and a portable equipment. The portable equipment includes a transmitter-receiver, a memory circuit, and a control circuit. The propelled-object-side equipment includes a transmitter-receiver, a memory circuit, and a control circuit. The propelled-object-side equipment transmits an inquiry signal to the portable equipment in response to an actuation signal of the switch, and the portable equipment transmits an answer signal corresponding to the inquiry signal. If the answer signal corresponds to the inquiry signal, the control circuit unlocks the steering wheel locking unit, permits the engine to be started, and performs various operations depending on how many times and how long the switch is actuated.

Engine starting system

An antitheft device enables a vehicle to continue its operation without reexecuting information transmissions by referring to stored reception information when a power supply is instantaneously interrupted and recovered. The antitheft device includes an operation-equipment limiting part, a switch for sending a first ID code, an operation-equipment operation determining part that receives the first ID code and generates permission information for releasing a limited state of an operation equipment, a nonvolatile memory for storing the permission information, and an engine operation limiting part that permits the operation of the engine in response to the permission information, and limits the operation of the engine based on an operating condition of the engine. When the result of collation of the first ID code with a second ID code indicates coincidence, the operation-equipment operation determining part generates permission information to enable the operation equipment to operate, and makes the permission information stored in the nonvolatile memory.

Antitheft device for a vehicle or the like

A remedial unit in a vehicle antitheft device capable of performing starting control according to an authentication result derived from radio communication between a portable unit and an onboard unit, with great security regarding permission to start the vehicle when the portable unit cannot be used, the onboard unit including: a unit detecting that terminals of a predetermined electric wiring outside the onboard unit are connected by a connecting element; a unit detecting a predetermined signal indicating that a key cylinder outside the onboard unit is at a predetermined position; a unit detecting a signal generated by a password manual entry switch outside the onboard unit; and a unit generating a starting control command to a vehicle drive control unit when a predetermined password is entered after conductiveness of the electric wiring and occupation of the predetermined position by the mechanical key have been detected by the units.

Provided is an engine starting system which is highly reliable in that a battery does not run out even if a manual switch is tampered and operated many times by a third party. Equipment on the propelled object side () includes an actuation signal refusing unit () which avoids responding to an actuation signal from a switch () for a third predetermined time in at least one of the states where a number of actuation signals successively transmitted from the switch without producing an answer signal thereto has become equal to or larger than a prescribed number of times predetermined in a first predetermined time period and where the actuation signal has been kept tuned ON for a period equal to or longer than a second predetermined time period without producing an answer signal thereto.

The burglarproof device for vehicle includes a portable transmitter having an unlock button for transmitting a preset first ID code, an immobilizer controller for receiving the first ID code from the portable transmitter, and collating the first ID code with a second ID code stored to permit the activation of a handle on the basis of a collation result thereof, and a system relay for permitting an engine operation on the basis of the collation result by the immobilizer controller, or disabling the engine operation on the basis of an operating state of the engine, and a fuel injection controller.

Burglarproof device for vehicle

A propellant anti-theft system can not only perform permission/stop of operation of a vehicle in a simple and easy manner without using a key, but also suppress the theft and reuse of vehicle parts. The system includes a portable device and an on-board device installed on the vehicle, and further includes an engine control device, a switch and various units, all of which are connected to the on-board device. The on-board device includes a transmitter receiver, a storage circuit and a control circuit. The portable device includes a transmitter receiver, a storage circuit and a control circuit. The control circuit of the on-board device compares common data possessed by itself and common data stored in microprocessor units of the engine control device and the various units, and unlocks a steering locking section included in the various units and outputs an engine starting permission signal to the engine control device when both of the individual pieces of common data coincide with each other.

Vehicle anti-theft system

A vehicular electronic key system includes an on-board device that mutually communicates with a portable device, and operates control equipment installed on a vehicle when specific information from the portable device is authenticated. The on-board device includes a distance storage section for storing travel distances of the vehicle, and a warning section for warning that the portable device disappeared when communication was stopped between the on-board device and the portable device. The on-board device communicates with the portable device each time a predetermined distance is travelled, stores the travel distance at each communication time point into the distance storage section, and drives, upon detection that a signal transmitted from the portable device was disrupted, the warning section to warn an undetected region between the last travel distance stored immediately before the transmitted signal was disrupted and a travel distance at a time point at which the transmitted signal was disrupted.

Vehicular electronic key system

To provide a mobile device registration system, with which it is impossible to register from a third party's mobile device which is already registered with respect to one vehicle, a mobile device ID with respect to another vehicle to improve security. The system of the present invention includes: a smart unit mounted in a vehicle that has a unique smart ID corresponding to the vehicle and allows registration a mobile device ID; and a mobile device having a unique mobile device ID and allowing registration of the smart ID. In the system, when the smart unit registers the mobile device ID of one mobile device, the smart unit registers its own smart ID into the one mobile device, and unlocking or locking of the vehicle is performed only when the smart unit detects the mobile device having the mobile device ID that is registered in the smart unit.

Mobile device registration system

A plurality of mutually separate electrodes supported by a support frame are pre-molded into an integral electrode assembly in which the electrodes are connected with each other through resin moldings. The electrode assembly thus formed is cut off from the support frame to provide a primary product in which the electrodes are electrically disconnected from each other. The primary product is then molded into a molded unit having the electrodes embedded therein. Preferably, the primary product is placed in a mold and supported at a predetermined location by a plurality of support pins which abut against the resin moldings. The support pins are removed from the molded unit while leaving corresponding through-holes after a molten resin is poured into the mold and cooled. The electrodes embedded in the molded unit are prevented from being exposed to the outside of the molded unit via through-holes.

A reverse rotation control apparatus for a two-cycle engine of a motor vehicle which can be implemented inexpensively while preventing exhaust gas composition and ignition performance from degradation. The apparatus includes a variety of sensors for generating a variety of information signals corresponding to engine operating states, and an ignition control unit (10A) for generating an ignition signal (P) for the engine (1) on the basis of the variety of information. The sensors include at least a rotation sensor (6) for generating a rotation signal (SG) and a reverse rotation switch (23) for generating a reverse rotation command signal (RW). The ignition control unit (10A) includes an ignition timing retard control means for causing an ignition timing of the engine (1) to retard beyond a top dead center (TDC) upon inputting of the reverse rotation command signal (RW), an engine rotation number decision means for deciding whether or not a rotation number (Re) of the engine (1) is lowered to a predetermined rotation number (ReW) suited for the reverse rotation control, and an excessively advanced ignition signal generating means for outputting only once an ignition signal (P) advanced excessively relative to a normal advanced ignition timing when the engine rotation number (Re) is lowered to the predetermined rotation number (ReW) suited for the reverse rotation control.

Reverse rotation control apparatus for a two-cycle engine of a motor

A reverse rotation control apparatus of inexpensive structure for making it possible to reverse rotation of a two-cycle engine for a motor vehicle without need for monitoring constantly engine rotation speed (rpm) while sparing gear box includes a variety of sensors for generating signals corresponding to engine operating states, and an ignition control unit (10A) for generating an ignition signal (P) on the basis of the various signals. The sensors include a rotation sensor (6) for generating a rotation signal (SG) indicating engine rotation number (Re) and a reverse rotation switch (23) for generating a reverse rotation command signal (RW). The ignition control unit (10A) includes a means for arithmetically determining on the basis of engine state a timer period (TM) over which misfire is caused to occur successively upon inputting of the reverse rotation command signal, a means for causing the misfire to occur over the timer period (TM), and a means for outputting only once an overadvanced ignition signal upon termination of the timer period (TM) which corresponds to a time taken for the engine rotation number (Re) to lower to a predetermined rotation number (ReW) due to the misfire events.
