A communication device includes a body, and a wireless communicator housed in the body for communicating wirelessly with an external device proximate to the body through magnetic coupling. The body is placed in an opening in a wall surface and fixed to the wall surface with an exposed surface of the body exposed from the wall surface. The wireless communicator includes a substrate including a coil pattern to allow the magnetic coupling with the external device. The substrate is nonparallel to the exposed surface.

The control circuit unit is provided in the peripheral region, and includes a first circuit unit including a third line connection line, and a third line switch. The drive element is provided on the peripheral region. The first circuit unit is partially disposed between the drive element and the first substrate.

The plurality of switch groups select a drive electrode to be coupled to a touch wiring based on a selection signal from the controller. The selection switches for each of the plurality of switch groups are coupled in parallel with each other between a corresponding drive electrode and the touch wiring, and for each of the drive electrodes, all of the selection switches operate in accordance with the selection signal, couple the corresponding drive electrodes and the touch wiring, and apply the touch drive signal to the corresponding drive electrodes.
