A clamp device has first and second jaws movable relative to one another for clamping an object therebetween. A clamp sensor operatively connected to one of the jaws generates a clamping signal representative of a clamping force urging the first and second jaws towards one another. A display is arranged to display a value proportional to the clamping signal which is representative of the clamping force between the first and second jaws. A motor for driving movement of the second jaw relative to the first jaw is operated by a controller that responds to operator commands in a manual control mode and/or which automatically drives the motor so as to maintain the clamping signal measured by the clamp sensor within a prescribed threshold range to apply a constant clamping force between the first and second jaws under an automated control mode.

A decking system comprises a ledger board for mounting on an upright supporting surface, a beam, a plurality of joists for spanning between the ledger board and the beam, and a plurality of deck boards for spanning across the joists in which all of the components can be mounted to one another by interlocking engagement of various connectors so that no additional fasteners are required for assembly. The components are formed of extruded and molded materials which do not require any maintenance. A railing system and a stair system are also provided which similarly connect by interlocking engagement of the components.

An ice skate assembly for attachment to a boot has a skate blade and a blade heating arrangement mounted within a blade support. The blade is heated by a row of field-effect transistors or by a resistance heating wire carried on the blade at a circuit board encapsulated on the top edge of the blade in an over-molded plastic strip which engages into a slot in the support as a wedged fit. The blade is attached by an inclined wedge member a screw for pulling the blade longitudinally of the blade and to draw the inclined wedge member into its receptacle. The battery pack is carried in the rear tower which is sealed against moisture penetration and includes two proximity switches for actuation.

Ice skate blade and blade heating arrangement

A plurality of intermediate deck boards span across joists in a decking system in which each deck board includes a lower frame portion extruded of a first material and an insert body inserted into the top side of the lower frame portion which is formed of a second material. Additional extruded members are used as starting and ending rows of the deck boards and as finishing boards across the ends of the intermediate deck boards, in which each of the deck boards defines a respective portion of an upper deck surface of the assembled deck structure. The perimeter extruded members include mounting channels for mounting a railing structure thereon.

A deck board mounting clip mounts deck boards to joist members with respective undercut portions in a deck structure. The mounting clip has an intermediate body received between an adjacent deck boards, a first retainer flange protruding laterally into the side edge of one of the deck boards, a second retainer flange protruding laterally into the side edge of the next deck board, and a hook portion engageable with the undercut portion of the joist member such that the mounting clip cannot be lifted from the joist member.

An ice skate assembly for attachment to a boot has a skate blade and a blade heating arrangement mounted within a blade support. The blade is heated by resistive heating wire attached along a groove on each side of the blade. The blade is mounted in the support by an over-molded plastic strip which engages into a slot in the support as a wedged fit. A control circuit board is encapsulated on the top edge of the blade and connects to a battery pack is carried in the rear tower of the support. The blade is attached to the support by a screw for pulling the blade longitudinally of the blade and to draw an inclined wedge member formed by the over-molding into its receptacle.

Heating arrangement for ice skate blades

In an effort to facilitate the dumping of a load from a wheelbarrow the present invention provides pivoting hand grips attached to the ends of wheelbarrow handles, which enable an individual handling a wheelbarrow to maintain a constant grip on the handle while dumping. Moreover, the pivoting hand grips enable the arms of the individual to be consistently in a position of strength proximate his hips. The risk of injury, particularly back injury, is minimized by eliminating the arm extension required to dump a standard wheelbarrow. The awkward and strenuous exercise of dumping a wheelbarrow is thereby replaced by a smooth flowing action. The present invention also includes a locking mechanism for preventing the hand grips from rotating during normal stationary or travelling usage and a releasing mechanism which can be easily manipulated by the fingers of the handler while gripping the hand grips when the load is being dumped.
