An image display apparatus includes at least one light source to emit coherent light, a holographic optical element to diffract the coherent light from the light source to produce image light, an optical mechanism to guide the image light from the holographic optical element, at least one detection unit to detect the intensity of the image light, and an adjustment unit to adjust the power of the light source based on the result of detection by the detection unit. An image based on the image light is observed by a viewer.

Image display apparatus

A video display device includes a laser beam source module including a laser beam source emitting a laser beam and a laser beam source drive unit supplying power to the laser beam source, and an image generation unit generating a desired display image from the laser beam. The laser beam source module includes a substrate having the placed laser beam source and improved thermal conductivity, a temperature measurement member measuring a temperature of the substrate, a temperature adjustment member contacting the substrate and adjusting the temperature of the substrate, a circuit substrate electrically connecting the temperature measurement member and the laser beam source. Moreover, the circuit substrate is disposed on a rear surface opposite to a placement surface on which the laser beam source is placed, the temperature measurement member is mounted on the circuit substrate, and a portion of the temperature measurement member is connected to the substrate.

Video display device

A semiconductor laser device includes a semiconductor laser element configured to emit a fundamental wave; a transducer configured to receive the fundamental wave incident thereon and convert a wavelength of the fundamental wave to emit wavelength converted light; a filter configured to selectively transmit wavelength range light having a desired wavelength range of the wavelength converted light; a sealing member including a light-transmitting member and configured to enclose the semiconductor laser element, the light-transmitting member being configured to receive the wavelength range light transmitted through the filter and incident on the light-transmitting member, specularly reflect part of the wavelength range light, and substantially transmit the remaining part of the wavelength range light; and a photoreceptor configured to receive the specularly reflected light from the light-transmitting member.

Semiconductor laser device

A magnetic head supporting device includes a support member for supporting a magnetic head in opposed relationship to a magnetic disk. The support member is formed with an outer peripheral projection to define a recess inside thereof. When the magnetic disk is rotated in proximity to the recess, there is generated a partial vacuum in a space defined between the magnetic disk and the recess to suck the magnetic disk into the recess. A surface of the outer peripheral projection of the support member facing the magnetic disk has a predetermined surface roughness permitting communication of air between inside and outside of the recess and permitting suction of the magnetic disk into the recess due to the partial vacuum during rotation of the magnetic disk at a high speed. With this setting of the surface roughness, the occurrence of dewing and adherence of the disk to the support member can be prevented.
