An on-vehicle film antenna is constructed with a loop antenna and a monopole antenna and attached to a vehicle windshield. The loop antenna has a first element set in length to correspond to a first radio wave of a first frequency band. One end of the first element is connected to a power supply near a border section between a vehicle chassis and the vehicle windshield, and the other end of the first element is connected to the vehicle chassis. The monopole antenna has a second element set in length to correspond to a second radio wave of a second frequency band. One end of the second element is connected to the power supply near the border section in common with the one end of the first element, and the other end of the second element is disconnected from the vehicle chassis.

On-vehicle film antenna

An antenna is mounted in a vehicle for receiving a radio wave of a specified wavelength, and an electronic device such as a meter device is mounted in the vehicle. The electronic device tends to generate radiation noise when being operated. To reduce reception of the radiation noise by the antenna, a passive conductor element is located between the antenna and the electronic device to reflect a part of the radiation noise. The passive element is away from the electronic device by a distance that is about multiple times of one-quarter of the specified wavelength and is about multiple times of one-half of the specified wavelength in length.

Noise reception reducing arrangement

A mobile communication terminal mounted in a vehicle sends a state parameter to a CDMA network through an antenna. The state parameter includes own position information obtained from an autonomous positioning device through a communications bus and detection signals obtained from a vehicle speed sensor and a gyroscope. The own position information is computed by the autonomous positioning device based on GPS signals. In the CDMA network, an azimuth angle from a vehicle-traveling direction to a base station with which the terminal communicates is computed based on the state parameter. The azimuth angle is sent as an antenna control parameter to the terminal. In the terminal, an antenna control circuit controls directionality of a phased array antenna based on the antenna control parameter.

Mobile station controlling antenna directionality

In a mobile antenna, an electrically conductive antenna element has a first portion with one end and the other end extending therefrom. The one end of the first portion is arranged at least adjacent to any one of a first support portion, a second support portion, and a corner portion of a body of a vehicle. The one end of the first portion is electrically connected to a feeding point. The other end of the first portion is arranged along a surface of the window such that polarized surfaces formed by the antenna element are non-orthogonal to a polarized surface of each of a vertically polarized wave and a horizontally polarized wave in radio waves.

Mobile antenna mounted on a vehicle body

A planar antenna has a radiating element and a ground plate. A body of a vehicle has an internal edge that is formed by making a hole in the body. The planar antenna is located in the hole so that an imaginary plane of the internal edge is located between the radiating element and the ground plate. In such a structure, electric lines of force perpendicularly pass through the body beside the planar antenna. As a result, electric fields are maintained in the vertical direction even if the planar antenna is mounted on the vehicle. This maintains a horizontal directivity of the planar antenna.

Antenna apparatus and method for mounting antenna

An antenna device includes a ground plane, a first radiation element, and a second radiation element that is entirely disposed within the first radiation element. Of the first radiation element, a portion from a first end portion to a first bending portion electromagnetically couples with, of the second radiation element, a portion from a first end portion to a first bending portion. Further, of the first radiation element, a portion from a second end portion to a second bending portion electromagnetically couples with, of the second radiation element, a portion from a second end portion to a second bending portion. This structure enables the second radiation element to be resonant with the first radiation element.

Antenna device

In an antenna unit, a radiating element and an antenna ground element are held to a dielectric member, which is primarily provided for increasing electric lines of force passing from the radiating element to the antenna ground element. The radiating element and the antenna ground element are arranged with a predetermined slant relative to a circuit board. Therefore, the number of parts or the complexity of the assembly work for the antenna unit does not increase in comparison with an antenna unit holding a radiating element with an antenna base or a bracket. Furthermore, the slant can be adjusted to any angle during the assembly work. Thus, the maximum gain angle of the directional patterns can be adjusted without increasing the size of the antenna unit.

Antenna unit

In a GPS receiver system having a navigation GPS receiver unit and an assisted GPS receiver unit, a coupler is connected between a navigation GPS receiver and an assisted GPS receiver. A navigation GPS antenna is shared between the navigation GPS receiver and the assisted GPS receiver. With this configuration, an additional antenna for the assisted GPS receiver is not required. Therefore, the total number of parts included in the system is not increased.

GPS receiver system

When there is no continuity between a current position data acquired by the car navigation system and a previous position data acquired by the car navigation system, the car navigation system determines a current position of a vehicle based on position data transmitted from a personal digital assistant (PDA). In this way, the current position of the vehicle can be determined immediately.

An integrated communication system includes a CDMA network and other network such as a private cordless phone network which operates under a communication protocol different from that of the CDMA network. The CDMA network receives a GPS time signal from a GPS satellite and transmits a GPS-synchronization signal in synchronism with the GPS time signal. When a cellular phone receives an output request signal such as a position registration request signal from the other network, it transmits an output signal such as a position registration signal to the other network at a time synchronized with the GPS-synchronization signal. The other communication network responsively corrects a time of synchronization of its operation time based on the received output signal.

An telescoping antenna includes a lower antenna portion and an upper antenna portion to be telescoped into the lower antenna portion. The lower antenna portion includes a cylindrical conductor having an inner cavity for accommodating the upper antenna portion and a coaxial feeder cable. A cylindrical member, which is electrically connected to the cylindrical conductor and the coaxial feeder cable, is provided in the cavity so that a first leakage current is prevented from flowing into the coaxial feeder cable from the cylindrical conductor and that a second leakage current is prevented from flowing into the lower antenna portion from the upper antenna portion.

A multiband antenna system for use in a motor vehicle comprising an antenna unit responsible for first and second frequency bands. The antenna unit is electrically coupled to a first conduit tube which is in turn coupled coaxially to a second conduit tube with a capacitor being interposed therebetween. The capacitor is arranged so as to act as a short with respect to the first frequency signal and act as an open for the second frequency signal. The first conduit tube is connected to a first feeding terminal for deriving the second frequency signal and the second conduit tube is coupled to a second feeding terminal to derive the first frequency signal. This antenna system is constructed by using only one antenna unit having a predetermined length, thereby allowing simplification of the arrangement of the antenna system for easy manufacturing.

Multiband antenna system for use in motor vehicles

A multiband antenna system for use in a motor vehicle, which includes a one-unit antenna section coupled to a transceiver for transmission and reception of a signal with a frequency in a first frequency band and a receiver for reception of a signal with a frequency in a second frequency band. The antenna section, being provided so as to be protruded upwardly from the motor vehicle, comprises a first antenna element adapted to operate with respect to the first frequency band and a second antenna element adapted to operate with respect to the second frequency band different from the first frequency band. The second antenna element is made up of a conductor tube which is in turn introduced into the motor vehicle and further extends up to the transceiver. A center conductor line is coaxially encased in the conductor tube so as to make up a coaxial line, one end of which is connected to the first antenna element and the other end of which is coupled to the transceiver. Also included in the system is a connector which performs coupling between the conductor tube and the receiver. Between the connector and the transceiver is provided a noise-reduction device which has a high inductance so as to cut off noises led to the coaxial line and introduced through the connector into said receiver.

A high frequency wave absorbing ceramics can be used, for example, as an EMI preventive filter for interrupting high frequency waves intruding into electronic circuits. The high frequency wave absorbing ceramics are composed of a ternary composition comprising from 55 to 85 mol % of lead iron niobate Pb(Fe.sub.1/2 Nb.sub.1/2)O.sub.3, from 10 to 40 mol % of lead iron tungstate Pb(Fe.sub.2/3 W.sub.1/3)O.sub.3 and not more than 20 mol % of lead nickel tantalate Pb(Ni.sub.1/3 Ta.sub.2/3)O.sub.3 based on the total 100 mol % of a composition composed of lead iron niobate Pb(Fe.sub.1/2 Nb.sub.1/2)O.sub.3, lead iron tungstate Pb(Fe.sub.2/3 W.sub.1/3)O.sub.3 and lead nickel tantalate Pb(Ni.sub.1/3 Ta.sub.2/3)O.sub.3.
