A connecting structure includes a unit body including a case having an electronic-component housing concave portion and a fitting-connection concave portion and an electronic component housed in the electronic-component housing concave portion and making a first connecting portion in the fitting-connection concave portion; an electric wire having an electric-wire side terminal in the middle of the electric wire in an electric-wire direction; and a cover member having an electric wire housing portion held on the electric wire so as to overlie an area of the electric-wire side terminal and a cover side fitting part to be fitted in the fitting-connection concave portion. In such a configuration, after the cover member is previously assembled with the electric wire to form a cover-assembled wire, the cover-assembled wire is fit in the fitting-connection concave portion and simultaneously therewith the first connecting portion is connected to the electric wire side terminal.

Connecting structure of electric wire and electronic-component incorporating unit

A connector includes a ground terminal connected to a braid shield of a coaxial cable at an end portion thereof, a housing receiving the ground terminal therein, and an earth plate for connecting the ground terminal to a mating member of a conductive nature provided outside the housing. The earth plate is formed by pressing a single metal sheet into a predetermined shape, and includes a housing retaining portion for being retainingly mounted on the housing, a terminal retaining/connecting portion for being engaged with the ground terminal to retain the ground terminal within the housing and also to be electrically connected to the ground terminal, and a grounding portion for electrical connection to the mating member.

An insulative internal resin cover is provided to partition an internal space of upper and lower insulative resin covers into a wire receiving space and an element receiving space. A wire-side terminal is provided at an intermediate portion of a wire, and is electrically connected to a conductor of the wire. When the intermediate portion of the wire is located in the wire receiving space, the wire-side terminal is inserted from the wire receiving space into the element receiving space through a terminal insertion hole formed in the internal resin cover, and is connected to a circuit including an element received in the element receiving space.

Structure of connecting wire to element-containing unit

An optical connector consists of a ferrule unit including an optical fiber, a ferrule rigidly fitted to one end of the optical fiber, and a spring placed around the optical fiber which abuts at one end against the ferrule, a plug housing which receives the ferrule unit, and a spring cap having a rear wall and a fiber letting-out portion formed in the rear wall through which the optical fiber is let out. The spring cap is fittable, with the spring abutting at the other end thereagainst, to the plug housing. The plug housing has a resilient protecting means which, when the spring cap is fitted to the plug housing, overhangs a part of the optical fiber let out through the fiber letting-out portion of the spring cap. The optical fiber is protected at that port let out of the spring cap if bent.

Optical connector

A hybrid connector consists of an optical fiber cable having a ferrule attached at one end thereof, an optical adapter having a receiving cavity for the one end of the optical fiber cable, an electrical connector having terminal receiving cavities for receiving electrical terminals and an optical adapter mount section for receiving the optical adapter, a cover which receives the optical adapter, and an optical housing having a housing side receiving cavity for the one end of the optical fiber cable. The hybrid connector, depending on the constituent elements selected, can be provided as an optical/electrical connector, a first optical connector and a second optical connector, so as to match to the mating connector.

Hybrid connector

An optical connector having a spring cap which easily fits on and hardly comes off from a plug housing has been provided. The optical connector contains an optical plug including: a ferrule assembly; a plug housing for receiving the ferrule assembly; and a spring cap fitting on the plug housing, wherein the plug housing includes a pair of guide rails formed on an upper surface of the plug housing and a pair of engaging projections each formed on right and left side surfaces of the plug housing, the spring cap includes a pair of side walls, each of which is divided into portions for establishing a portion to bend and a portion to control aging. A pair of engaging parts each engaging with the respective engaging projection of the plug housing is formed in the portion to bend and grooves having an inverse U-shape cross-section are formed at the portion to control aging for inserting the guide rail thereinto from one end thereof.

A fixing structure for optical connectors consists of a circuit board, a receptacle having a conductive housing shieldingly connected to the circuit board, the housing having an integral fixing portion with a prepared hole formed therein, and a screw passed through the circuit board and screwed in the prepared hole to fix the housing to the circuit board. The fixing portion has a sealing wall closing the prepared hole at a distal end thereof and an enclosed shaving receiver formed in the prepared hole, between the sealing wall and the screw. A short circuit is prevented which is caused by shavings produced when the screw is screwed in the prepared hole.
