A swallowing sensor that is attached to a person's pharyngeal portion and that measures the person's swallowing ability includes: a film-shaped detector that detects vibration based on displacement and sound of the pharyngeal portion; an adhesive layer that is provided on one of two main sides of the detector and that attaches the detector to the pharyngeal portion; and a sensing film arranged on the detector to cover entirety of the other main side of the detector, wherein a main side of the sensing film that contacts the detector contains an adhesive component, the sensing film is attachable to the pharyngeal portion around the detector using the adhesive component, and the sensing film conveys vibration to the detector. Accordingly, the swallowing ability can be more accurately measured.

An in-liquid-substance detection sensor that achieves size reduction and detection accuracy improvement includes a piezoelectric substrate, at least two SAW devices provided on one major surface of the piezoelectric substrate and each having at least one IDT electrode defining a sensing portion, outer electrodes provided on the other major surface of the piezoelectric substrate and electrically connected to the SAW devices through vias extending through the piezoelectric substrate, a channel-defining member provided on the one major surface of the piezoelectric substrate so as to surround the SAW devices and a region connecting the SAW devices to each other, thereby defining sidewalls of a channel, and a protective member bonded to the one major surface of the piezoelectric substrate with the channel-defining member interposed therebetween, thereby sealing the channel, the protective member having at least two through holes communicating with the channel.

In-liquid-substance detection sensor

A sensor for detecting an analyte in liquid includes a base substrate provided with openings and electrode lands on one surface thereof and SAW elements each provided with a sensing portion having at least one IDT electrode on one side. The SAW elements are mounted on the base substrate with bump electrodes by a flip-chip bonding method so that the sensing portions of the SAW elements face the openings of the base substrate. At least one of the sensing portions is coated with a reaction membrane which binds to an analyte.

Sensor for detecting analyte in liquid and device for detecting analyte in liquid using the same

A vibrating gyroscope includes a columnar vibrator, a driver and a detector. The columnar vibrator includes first and second piezoelectric substrates polarized in mutually opposite directions along the thickness directions thereof and stacked with each other. Two divided electrodes are formed on one main surface of the first piezoelectric substrate and spaced in the direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the first piezoelectric substrate, and a common electrode is formed on one main surface of the second piezoelectric substrate. The driver drives the vibrator in the thickness direction of the first and second piezoelectric substrates and is connected between the divided electrodes and the common electrode. The detector detects a displacement caused by bending vibration of the vibrator, and is connected to the divided electrodes. The vibrator has substantially the same resonant frequency in the two diagonal directions which diagonally connect four edges elongating in the longitudinal direction of the vibrator.
