An element body of a rectangular parallelepiped shape has a length in a height direction larger than a length in a width direction and has a length in a longitudinal direction larger than the length in the height direction. A terminal electrode is disposed at an end of the element body in the width direction and extends in the longitudinal direction. The element body includes a pair of principle surfaces opposing each other in the height direction, a pair of end surfaces opposing each other in the longitudinal direction, and a pair of side surfaces opposing each other in the width direction. The terminal electrode includes a conductor disposed on the side surface. The conductor includes a protrusion having a length in the longitudinal direction larger than a length in the height direction.

The second external electrode includes a third sintered electrode layer and a plated layer disposed on the third sintered electrode layer. The first, second, and third sintered electrode layers include a void. A void fraction of each of the first and third sintered electrode layers is larger than a void fraction of the second sintered electrode layer.

Feedthrough capacitor

An element body includes first and second end surfaces opposing each other in a first direction, first and second side surfaces opposing each other in a second direction, and first and second principal surfaces opposing each other in a third direction. The length of the element body in the third direction is shorter than that of the element body in the first direction and is shorter than that of the element body in the second direction. A pair of first external electrodes is disposed at both ends of the element body in the first direction. Each of the first external electrodes includes a first conductor part disposed on one main surface and a second conductor part disposed on the end surface and coupled to the first conductor part. The porosity of the first conductor part is smaller than that of the second conductor part.

A length in a first direction of the element body is smaller than a length in a second direction of the element body and smaller than a length in a third direction of the element body, the second direction being perpendicular to the first direction, the third direction being perpendicular to the first and second direction. Each of a first terminal electrode and a second terminal electrode includes a sintered conductor layer formed on the element body, a first plated layer formed on the sintered conductor layer, and a second plated layer formed on the first plated layer. In each of a first electrode portion disposed on a principal face and a third electrode portion disposed on a principal face, a maximum thickness of the sintered conductor layer is larger than a thickness of the first plated layer and not more than a thickness of the second plated layer.

A length in a third direction of a first connection portion is smaller than a length in the third direction of a first main electrode portion. A length in the third direction of a second connection portion is smaller than a length in the third direction of a second main electrode portion. A thickness in a first direction of an inner layer portion is smaller than each of the length in the third direction of the first connection portion and the length in the third direction of the second connection portion and smaller than each of a gap from a second side surface to the first connection portion in the third direction and a gap from the second side surface to the second connection portion in the third direction. The second side surfaces oppose each other in the third direction perpendicular to the first direction.

A length in a first direction of an element body is smaller than a length in a second direction of the element body and smaller than a length in a third direction of the element body, the second direction being perpendicular to the first direction, the third direction being perpendicular to the first and second direction. A difference between a maximum thickness and a minimum thickness of a first electrode portion is smaller than a difference between a maximum thickness and a minimum thickness of a second electrode portion. A difference between a maximum thickness and a minimum thickness of a third electrode portion is smaller than a difference between a maximum thickness and a minimum thickness of a fourth electrode portion. The maximum thickness of the first electrode portion and the maximum thickness of the third electrode portion are larger than thicknesses of respective outer layer portions.

Multilayer capacitor with terminal electrode including sintered conductor layer

An element body includes a pair of principal surfaces, a pair of side surfaces, and another pair of side surfaces. Each of a pair of terminal electrodes includes a first electrode portion disposed on the principal surface and a second electrode portion disposed on the side surface. In the element body, a length in a direction in which the pair of principal surfaces oppose each other is smaller than a length in a direction in which the pair of side surfaces oppose each other and smaller than a length in a direction in which the other pair of side surfaces oppose each other. An arithmetic mean deviation of the surface of the first electrode portion is from 0.20 to 0.26 &#x3bc;m. An arithmetic mean deviation of the surface of the second electrode portion is from 0.27 to 0.38 &#x3bc;m.

An element body includes principal surfaces opposing each other in a first direction, first side surfaces opposing each other in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction, and second side surfaces opposing each other in a third direction perpendicular to the first and second directions. A length in the first direction of the element body is smaller than a length in the second direction of the element body and a length in the third direction of the element body. Each of the first and second terminal signal electrodes and the terminal ground electrode includes an electrode portion disposed on the principal surface. A thickness of the electrode portion of the terminal ground electrode is smaller than a thickness of the electrode portion of the first terminal signal electrode and smaller than a thickness of the electrode portion of the second terminal signal electrode.
