A remote driving taxi system provides a mobility service using remote driving taxis that are driven by remote drivers. Management information indicates assignment states between the remote driving taxis and the remote drivers. The remote driving taxi system executes an assignment process based on the management information, in response to a request from a user. Specifically, the remote driving taxi system selects one of unassigned taxis to each of which the remote driver has not been assigned, as a first remote driving taxi that provides the service to the user. Further, the remote driving taxi system selects one of remote drivers each of which has not been assigned to the remote driving taxi, as a first remote driver that provides the service to the user. Then, the remote driving taxi system assigns the first remote driver to the first remote driving taxi.

A matching system that matches a first vehicle requiring substitution when being at least either loaded into or unloaded from a parking place and a remote driver driving the first vehicle as a substitute through remote operation includes a terminal and a server. The terminal transmits substitution request information to the server. The server that has received the request information transmits waiting time information to the terminal. The terminal notifies a user or a staff of the received waiting time information, accepts a waiting time information approval or additional fee payment instructions, and settles the additional fee through cooperation with the server, upon receiving the payment instructions. Each of the remote driving taxis includes a display lamp configured to indicate whether the remote driving taxi is currently available. The remote driving taxi system puts on the display lamp of the remote driving taxi to which the remote driver has already been assigned and that is currently available, based on the management information. An on-board brake system mounted in an autonomous vehicle comprises a brake unit, a first brake actuator and a second brake actuator for driving the brake unit, and a main ECU for controlling drive of the first and second brake actuators; the second brake actuator is an accumulating actuator; and when an emergency stop switch is depressed, the main ECU operates only the second brake actuator or operates the second brake actuator with precedence over the first brake actuator.
