An object of the present invention is to provide a method for manufacturing a connector terminal received in a terminal-receiving chamber, passing through a sealing member, and brought into close contact with the sealing member, and a connector, which are the method for manufacturing a connector terminal, and the connector, for improvement in close contact between the sealing member and the connector terminal. Provided is a method for manufacturing a connector terminal received in a terminal-receiving chamber of a housing, passing through a sealing member filled in the terminal-receiving chamber, and brought into close contact with the sealing member, and the method includes a first process of punching a non-plated metal plate to form an intermediate material and a second process of covering the intermediate material with plating.

A cover attaching structure in a connector includes: first and second locking portions provided on a first attaching member; and third and fourth locking portions provided on a second attaching member which is attached to the first attaching member. The first locking portion is locked on the third locking portion from an outer surface side of the connector. The second locking portion is locked on the fourth locking portion from an inner surface side of the connector.

An electric connector housing,consisting of a pair of connector housings comprises a receiving chamber,which is formed on an outer face of a rotatable member,fitted to one of connector housings,and radially extending therefrom, and a member,for detecting an engagement of the connector housings which is inserted into the receiving chamber movably back and forth and adapted to engage with the rotatable member,at its one end before a start of the engagement and after the engagement, thereby to stop the rotation of the rotatable member. The other of the connector housings,includes an annular wall,which is bulgingly formed at an outer face thereof in a circumferential direction, and a sliding face,formed on the annular wall so as to face with the rotatable member, the other end of the member for detecting the engagement being abutted against the sliding face at the start of the engagement and sliding along the sliding face during the engagement. With this structure, positioning work of the one connector housing with respect to the other will be reduced, an erroneous excessive rotation of the rotatable member after the engagement will be prevented, and an incompletely engaged state can be easily detected by visual inspection.

Electric connector housing and method for detecting engagement of the same

A provisionally-retaining arm (,), which has a retaining projection (,), and extends in a connector fitting direction, is formed on a connector housing (,). A vertical one side surface (,) of the retaining projection is abutted against a vertical one side surface (,) of an inlet portion (,) of a guide hole (,), thereby provisionally retaining a slider (,) in a completely-locked condition. When the two connector housings (,) are to be fitted together, the retaining projection (,) is disposed in opposed relation to a follower projection (,). A landing portion (,) and a relief portion (,) for the retaining projection (,) are provided adjacent to the inlet portion (,). At least one of the other side surface of the retaining projection and an end edge portion of the relief portion (,) is formed in a slanting condition. An auxiliary retaining arm is formed on the slider (,), and a provisionally-retaining hole and a completely-retaining hole are formed in the connector housing (,). A vertical retaining surface and a slanting surface, which are directed in a slider releasing direction, are formed on the retaining projection of the auxiliary retaining arm, and a vertical abutment surface is formed on an inner surface of the provisionally-retaining hole.

Low-insertion force connector

An interfitting structure of a connector includes: an engaging portion provided on a connector housing; an engaging portion provided on a cover opening and closing one surface side of the connector housing; and a rib provided on an inner side of the engaging portion of the cover. The rib abuts against an inner side wall of the engaging portion of the connector housing. The one surface side of the connector housing is covered by the cover by engagement of the both engaging portions with each other so as to construct a connector. Furthermore, a first clearance is provided between an inner side wall of the engaging portion of the cover and an outer side wall of the engaging portion of the connector housing, and a second clearance is provided between the inner side wall of the engaging portion of the connector housing and the rib.

Interfitting structure of connector

The connector fitting structure includes: a first connector 2 including in the leading end portion thereof a pair of engaging grooves 7 and a pair of securing projections; and, a second connector 3 including a housing main body 4 which incorporates therein not only a pair of flexible lock arms 10 each having in the leading end thereof a lock portion 9 to be engaged with its associated one of the two engaging grooves 7 but also a slider 5 elastically energized in the axial direction thereof and including in the front end portion thereof a pair of contact portions 11 to be engaged with their associated securing projections 8. The slider 5 is mounted within the housing main body 4 in such a manner that it sits astride the lock arms 10 and it can be slided not only in the back-and-forth direction but also in the vertical direction; and, in the lock arms 10, there are provided the push-up projections 14 which are used to push up the contact portions 11.

Connector fitting structure

In a connector fitting construction, a male connector includes an exclusive-use housing having a slider receiving portion for slidably receiving a slider. A lock arm is provided at a widthwise-central portion of a lower portion of the slider receiving portion. A housing lock for retaining engagement with a female housing is formed on a lower surface of a front end of the lock arm. The slider is constituted by a first slide member and a second slide member, and the first slide member includes a pair of arms, an interconnecting portion interconnecting these arms, and abutment posts. An abutment portion is formed at a front end of each of the arms. The second slide member includes a retaining portion for retaining the housing lock at the front end of the lock arm, and an operating portion, which is operated when canceling the fitted condition, and a pair of retainer portions with which one ends of tension springs are engaged, respectively.

Connector fitting construction

A housing body of a connector housing has a terminal receiving chamber receiving a connector terminal, a first terminal engagement portion engaging with the connector terminal received in the receiving chamber, a mounting portion to which a rear holder is mounted, and a holder engagement portion projecting within an insertion groove formed on the outer surface of the housing body. The rear holder has a second terminal engagement portion further engaging with the connector terminal engaged with the first terminal engagement portion in a state of being mounted to the mounting portion, a convex portion inserted into the insertion groove, and a engageable portion which projects from the convex portion and engages with the holder engagement portion. A mounting state of the rear holder can be securely maintained by engaging the holder engagement portion with the engageable portion within the insertion groove.

Structure of connector housing

A mechanism for ascertaining whether a male connector is engaged with a female connector through a rotatable ring is provided. The mechanism includes a detection tool, an accommodating part formed on a connector housing of the male connector, and an engagement recess formed on the ring. The detection tool includes a body part, an engagement projection formed on the body part, and a strut part formed on the body part. The accommodating part has a large groove for receiving the body part of the detection tool and a small groove formed on a bottom of the large groove, for receiving the strut part of the detection tool. The engagement recess is provided for engagement with the engagement projection. When the engagement recess is brought into a position opposing the engagement projection, the detection tool can be slid in the accommodating part, so that the engagement projection engages with the engagement recess. On the contrary, when the engagement projection is not fitted into the engagement recess, the perfect fitting condition of the connectors cannot be realized.

Mechanism for ascertaining fitting condition of electrical connector

A LIF connector includes a frame member (10) having a pivotally-movable lever member (20), and first and second connectors (30 and 40, 50) to be fitted together through the frame member (10). The lever member (20) is provisionally retained when setting the first connector (30) on the frame member (10). Bendable provisionally-retaining arms (23) are provided respectively on side walls of the lever member (20), and arm reception portions (12) are mounted in a projected manner on inner surfaces of side walls of the frame member (10), respectively, and the arm reception portion (12) can retain the provisionally-retaining arm (23) to provisionally retain the lever member (20) in such a manner that the arm reception portion (12) provides a space for allowing the bending of the provisionally-retaining arm (23). A retainment release rib (32) is mounted in a projected manner on an outer surface of a side wall of the first connector, and this rib bends the provisionally-retaining arm (23) to release the retaining engagement of the arm (23) with the arm reception portion (12) when the first connector (30) is set on the frame member (10).

Lif connector

A connector for receiving a plurality of terminals includes a housing and a terminal locking member. The housing defines a plurality of terminal accommodating chambers and a cavity formed in an outer wall of the housing, wherein each of the plurality of terminal accommodating chambers accommodates a respective one of the plurality of terminals, and wherein the cavity extends across the terminal accommodating chambers. The terminal locking member is movably disposed in the cavity of the housing, the terminal locking member being movable between a temporary locking position in which the terminal locking member is not engaged with the terminals accommodated in the terminal accommodating chambers and a final locking position in which the terminal locking member is engaged with the terminals, wherein the terminals are retained in the terminal accommodating chambers when the terminal locking member is in the final locking position. The connector further includes a temporary-locking locking section formed on the housing and a flexible arm extending from the terminal locking member. The flexible arm is engageable with the temporary-locking locking section to retain the terminal locking member at the temporary locking position and is forcibly bendable to disengage the flexible arm from the temporary-locking locking section to allow movement of the terminal locking member from the temporary locking position to the final locking position.

Connector

A connector for detecting an incomplete insertion of a terminal is provided, wherein the connector causes a detecting accuracy of the incomplete insertion of the terminal to be improved when each of a detection of incomplete insertion and a detection of continuity of the terminal is performed. A guide groove is formed, into which an incomplete insertion detecting finger of an inspecting pin is inserted. The guide groove is formed at a space into which a resilient supporting piece is capable of bending when confronted by a terminal receiving chamber of a connector housing. A pick-up surface is provided for guiding at an opening of the guide groove. A straight portion is formed along the guide groove so as to protrude from the straight portion, which is lengthened at the tip of the resilient supporting piece. The straight portion is located a small distance apart from the guide groove in a direction toward the direction opposite of which the resilient supporting piece is capable of bending into.

Connector for detecting incomplete insertion of terminal

A connector fitting-indication mechanism that is provided with an indicator capable of accurately indicating a condition of fitting of two connectors when they are engaged, and can positively be returned to an original position upon disengagement of the connectors from each other. The indicator is in one connector and is releasably engageable with a portion of a second connector. When engaged, the indicator moves to an indicating position and when disengaged, the indicator moves to a position.
