The present invention is a polyester film obtained by blending 10-90 wt % of polyester (A) containing ethylene terephthalate as a main constituent component and 90-10 wt % of crystalline polyester (B) different from this polyester (A), which has a half value width of a recrystallization peak obtained by a differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) by lowering temperature of not more than 0.25. The crystalline polyester (B) is preferably a polyester selected from polybutylene terephthalate (PBT), polytrimethylene terephthalate (PTT) and polyethylene 2,6 naphthalate (PEN). According to the polyester of the present invention, a polyester film superior in mechanical characteristic and design property and having high crystallinity, which can be used alone or adhered to a metal sheet and which is free of whitening even when the film is heat treated at near or not lower than the melting point can be obtained, and further, a polyester film having such superior resistance to whitening (design property), which is not easily damaged, can be obtained.

A recording material comprising a substrate and an ink receiving layer formed thereon, wherein said substrate has a thickness of 38-200 &mgr;m, said ink receiving layer is a porous layer comprising particles and a resin and has a thickness of not less than 40 &mgr;m and not more than 105 &mgr;m, and wherein the recording material has a curl value of not more than &plus;10 mm, and a recording material comprising a substrate and an ink absorption layer formed thereon, wherein the ink absorption layer has a surface strength of not less than 80 g weight/cm. The recording material thus obtained affords sharp recording of images having extremely high water resistance and free of bleeding by the ink jet recording method particularly using oily ink. The material hardly curls even under severe environment associated with radically changing humidity, temperature and the like, thereby ensuring stable transportability of the recording material without trouble caused by being in contact with a priting head. When used as an illumination signboard, moreover, the recording material affords superior images that are maintained when the illumination signboard is on or off.

Recording material

A recording material comprising a substrate layer and an ink receiving layer formed on said substrate layer, wherein the ink receiving layer has a retention of ink concentration after water immersion of not less than 30% and a surface gloss of not less than 55%. The recording material of the present invention is capable of absorbing ink quickly, which ink being hard to be removed even after pouring water thereon, and of color ink jet printing with high surface gloss. The recording material of the present invention permits provision of printed matters having high gloss, high quality and high grade, like silver salt photographs.

Recording material and production method thereof

The present invention provides a gas barrier film including a plastic film and a thin film which is made of a composition containing an oxide as a main component and is formed on at least one surface of the plastic film. A specific gravity of the thin film is 55% or more and 100% or less of a specific gravity of the oxide in the form of a crystal generally present at room temperature and under atmospheric pressure. Thus, the invention provides a gas barrier film having an excellent gas barrier and retort properties and bending resistance; a gas barrier film suitably used in a wrapping material for dried food, liquid food or food containing liquids, frozen food and retort food; a gas barrier film that can be used in an electronic oven, can be sterilized by micro waves and can contain a free-oxygen absorber; a gas barrier film suitably used in a paper carton, a tube, a lid and the like; and a gas barrier film suitably used for cutting off gas for industrial use.
