An electro-optical apparatus includes an electro-optical panel having a first end portion, a first connector that is flexible, and a reinforcement member on the first connector. The first connector has a second end portion and a third end portion opposite to the second end portion. The second end portion is connected to the first end portion. The first connector has a first surface connected to the electro-optical panel, and a second surface opposite to the first surface. The reinforcement member is located on the first surface, and extends from an end surface at the first end portion of the electro-optical panel to the third end portion. The first connector has first and second side edges, at least one of which has a first cutout depressed inward. The first and second side edges connect the second and third end portions to each other.

Electro-optical apparatus

The object is to provide a technique capable of preventing, in a display device, bubbles from being trapped between a protective plate or a touch panel and a display panel and occurrence of display inhomogeneity. The display device includes a display panel, a backlight unit, a cushion serving as a support, and a first frame. The first frame includes: an opening through which the backlight unit is seen; a sidewall covering side surfaces of the backlight unit to form the opening; a panel facing portion extending from the sidewall toward the opening side to cover an end portion of the backlight unit; and a protruding portion protruding from the panel facing portion toward the display panel side. The cushion is disposed on the panel facing portion. The protruding portion is thinner than the cushion. A predetermined clearance is created between the tip of the protruding portion and the display panel.

Display device

A display apparatus that accommodates a display panel of displaying an image in a housing, the display apparatus comprises: a transparent protective member that covers a part of the housing and is arranged at a display face of the display panel; a transparent adhesive member that is arranged at a position corresponding to a display area of the display panel on a face of the transparent protective member, which faces the display panel, so that the display panel is stuck; and an adhesive member that is arranged at a peripheral area, which is provided from an outside of the display area of the display panel up to an end portion of the transparent protective member.

Display apparatus

A display device includes a touch panel includes a projection on the upper part of a front frame for holding a display element. The inner side face of the projection is opposed to the side part of the touch panel. The side part of the touch panel comes into contact with the inner side face of the projection thus positioning the touch panel into a desired position.

Provided is a surface light source device including a light guide plate, and at least one point light source that is disposed to be adjacent to an incidence surface of the light guide plate and irradiates the incidence surface with a light beam. The light guide plate includes, at least at a position at which the point light source is disposed, at least one projection projecting from the incidence surface toward a direction in which the point light source is disposed.

Surface light source device and display device

Each point light source includes an overhang projecting perpendicularly to a light emitting surface from one side of the light emitting surface, and the overhang has its main surface made in contact with a light outgoing surface of a light guide plate with the light emitting surface facing a light incident surface of the light guide plate. Engagement of the overhang with the light outgoing surface of the light guide plate prevents a displacement of the light emitting surface of the point light source and the light incident surface of the light guide plate even when the light guide plate suffers from deformation such as warpage. Even if a displacement occurs, the presence of the overhang reflects leaked light to guide it to the light incident surface of the light guide plate.
