The present invention provides a method for performing a decomposition treatment on a VOC and/or a gas-phase inorganic reducing compound in a gas through ozone oxidation, by which further enhancement of efficiency in oxidative decomposition reaction by ozone is achieved, a decomposition treatment can be performed efficiently on a high-flow rate exhaust gas containing substances such as a VOC and a malodorous substance in low concentrations, and the amount of ozone to be used can be reduced in a method for performing oxidative decomposition treatment with ozone on a VOC and the like using a high silica adsorbent. The present invention is a method for performing an oxidative decomposition treatment with ozone on a VOC and/or a gas-phase inorganic reducing compound in a gas, the method including adding/mixing an ozone gas into a gas containing a VOC and the like, and then bringing a resultant mixed gas into contact with a high silica adsorbent being a packed porous body to perform decomposition treatment on the VOC and the like through ozone oxidation, wherein a porous body including the high silica adsorbent as a base material, and a particulate powder of a transition metal-containing oxide having a BET specific surface area of 80 mor more, the particulate powder carried on the base material, is used as a packing material.

The present invention provides a method for performing a purification treatment on a harmful substance-containing liquid, the method enabling an efficient purification treatment of a harmful substance-containing liquid by using dissolved ozone being an oxidizing agent with high level of safety, and a harmful substance-containing liquid purification treatment apparatus for carrying out the method. A method for performing a purification treatment on a harmful substance-containing liquid, the method comprising adding and mixing dissolved ozone into a harmful substance-containing liquid containing a harmful substance, thereafter bringing the harmful substance-containing liquid into contact with a transition metal-containing oxide having a BET specific surface area of 80 m/g or more, adsorbing ozone, and adsorbing a harmful substance, and then allowing the harmful substance-containing liquid to flow to accelerate oxidation of the harmful substance by dissolved ozone, thereby performing a highly efficient oxidative decomposition, and a harmful substance-containing liquid purification treatment apparatus for carrying out the method.

A composite oxide black pigment has characteristics to absorb visible rays and near infrared rays, and is composed of an oxide of main constituent metals including copper, manganese and iron. In a wavelength region of 400 to 1,000 nm, the composite oxide black pigment has a minimum wavelength, at which a transmittance becomes minimum, in a wavelength region of 600 to 800 nm, a molar ratio of manganese/iron is 3/1 to 30/1, and a molar ratio of copper/(manganese+iron) is 1/2 to 1.2/2. Its sole use makes it possible to obtain a transparent vivid bluish, neutral gray color, and also to maximize an absorption in a near infrared region. It is, therefore, excellent in near infrared absorption characteristics.

Composite oxide black pigment and method for producing same

To provide a Cu&#x2014;Mn&#x2014;Fe-based complex inorganic oxide black pigment having a more vivid bluish hue than a Cu&#x2014;Mn&#x2014;Fe-based complex inorganic oxide black pigment obtained by a conventional wet method. A colored resin water distribution pipe formed of a colored resin composition which comprises a polyolefin resin as a main component and a blue fine powder pigment of a composite oxide which comprises two or more metal oxides and has a spinel crystal structure and a BET specific surface area of about 30 m /g or more. The blue fine powder pigment is covered with an inorganic compound. The blue fine powder pigment is preferably treated mechanochemically by grinding. The colored resin water distribution pipe exhibits excellent resistance to water containing chlorine as a bactericide so that discoloration of the coloring component and formation of blisters on the inner face of the pipe by water containing chlorine are prevented.
