A display device includes an input section to which image information is externally input, a display section adapted to display an image based on the image information on a display surface, and a control section adapted to control the display device based on setting information related to an operation of the display device to make the display section display the image, and change the setting information from first setting information to second setting information in accordance with an instruction for changing the setting information. In the case in which the image information is not input to the input section for a first time period after the control section changes the setting information from the first setting information to the second setting information, the control section changes the setting information from the second setting information to the first setting information.

A display apparatus includes a display section that displays an image and a controller that controls the display apparatus based on setting information to cause the display section to display the image and changes the setting information from first setting information to second setting information in accordance with a first instruction. In a state in which the controller has changed the setting information from the first setting information to the second setting information and causes the display section to display a first image based on first image information from the first input section, and when the controller receives a second instruction to cause the display section to display a second image based on second image information from the second input section, the controller changes the setting information from the second setting information to the first setting information and causes the display section to display the second image.

When projecting an image transmitted from a computer operated by the presenter and enabling the viewer to watch the image projected by the projector, the projector receives image data transmitted through two-way communication from the computer operated by the presenter, projects an image represented by the received image data and transmits the received image data to a client computer operated by the viewer through the two-way communication, and the client computer receives the image data transmitted through the two-way communication and displays the image represented by the received image data on its display.

In one embodiment, an image display device comprises a first USB port, a writing unit, and a display unit. The writing unit writes a wireless setup information of the image display device to a predetermined USB memory if the predetermined USB memory is attached to the first USB port. The display unit displays a predetermined message if the writing unit finishes writing the wireless setup information to the predetermined USB memory. The display unit displays an image data sent from an image supply device using the wireless setup information read by the image display device from the predetermined USB memory, if the predetermined USB memory is attached to a second USB port of the image supply device.

An image display system that includes an image supply device, a projector, and a network for connecting the image supply device and the projector. When images are supplied to the projector via the network from the image supply device, the images are projected by the projector. When projecting and displaying a second image having a second image size based on a first image having a first image size in a projection screen of the projector, the image supply device generates supplied image data including first image data for representing the first image, position data for indicating the display position of the second image in the projection screen, and second image size data for indicating the second image size, and also supplies this to the projector via the network. By doing this, increases in network traffic for the image display system are suppressed.
