The ocean floating installations () float on the ocean with the lower part of the ocean floating installations () being fixed to the seabed by mooring ropes (). Each of the ocean floating installations () is connected at a connection part () to a cable (), which is a first cable. Each of the cables () is connected at a connection part () to a cable (), which is a second cable. In other words, the ocean floating installations () are connected to each other by the cables () and the cable (). A connection is established with the cables () at the connection parts () located on the seabed. In other words, the cables () are installed on the seabed.

Undersea cable, undersea cable installation structure, and method for installing undersea cable

A power line core in an undersea cable includes a conducting member, an insulating member, a shield layer, a water shielding layer, an anticorrosion layer and the like. The insulating member is provided on an outer periphery portion of the conducting member. The insulating member is made of, for example, crosslinked polyethylene. The shield layer is provided on an outer periphery of the insulating member. The water shielding layer is provided on an outer periphery portion of the shield layer. The water shielding layer includes a multilayer tape in which a metal layer is sandwiched by resin layers. The anticorrosion layer is provided on an outer periphery portion of the water shielding layer. In the cross section of the multilayer tape, the metal layer has a corrugated shape.

Undersea cable, multilayer tape for water shielding layer of undersea cable, and method for improving fatigue characteristics of undersea cable

Provided is a flexible tube which is used to load fluid from a floating facility on the sea onto a tanker, which is suitable for transport of cryogenic fluid such as LNG, and which is capable of quickly and reliably detecting leakage of the fluid in the tube. Also provided is a structure for detecting leakage of fluid in a tube. A water impermeable and heat insulating layer is provided on the outer periphery of a heat insulating layer. The water impermeable and heat insulating layer, together with the heat insulating layer, thermally insulates LNG flowing through a corrugated tube from the outside of a flexible tube. Unlike the heat insulating layer, the water impermeable and heat insulating layer is poor in liquid permeability, and fluid such as LNG hardly permeates the water impermeable and heat insulating layer. That is, the water impermeable and heat insulating layer serves as a water impermeable layer between the inside and outside of the water impermeable and heat insulating layer.

Flexible tube for transporting cryogenic fluid and structure for detecting leakage of fluid in tube

Provided are a fluid conveying tube and a fluid leakage detecting system which can convey a cryogenic fluid such as LNG and which can quickly and reliably detect leakage of the fluid within the tube and the position of the leakage. An optical fiber is continuously wound over the entire length of a flexible tube. Leakage information detected by an optical fiber temperature sensor is transmitted via a terminal to an externally provided temperature measurement device. Meanwhile, when similar leakage occurs in the vicinity of a coupling section, the gas pressure inside the heat insulating layer or the like increases due to the pressure of LNG within a corrugated tube or a pressure generated as a result of evaporation of LNG. When the pressure inside the heat insulating layer increases, information representing a change in the gas pressure is transmitted to a terminal via a hollow pipe. A tube or the like is externally connected to the terminal, and is connected to a pressure meter or like.
