A switching-type vertical deflection output circuit comprises: an output-stage circuit constituted of first and second diodes and first and second switching elements, a smoothing circuit, a vertical deflection coil, a reference vertical sawtooth voltage generation unit, a voltage conversion unit of a vertical deflection current, an error voltage generation unit which obtains an error voltage between the reference vertical sawtooth voltage and the conversion voltage of the voltage conversion unit, a drive unit, and a pump-up circuit which pumps up a power-supply voltage to be supplied to the output-stage circuit during the flyback period. The vertical deflection waveform is stabilized by applying a pump-up pulse of the pump-up circuit to the feedback input terminal through an impedance circuit.

Sidewalls of a flash opening formed in a front cover of a camera are processed with the same surface treatment as that of the front cover. A condenser plate is so fitted into the flash opening from a backside of the front cover that a part of the condenser plate is protrusive from and another part is retractive from an outer surface of the front cover. In a place where the condenser plate is retractive, a part of sidewalls are exposed outside. In wildest-angle photography, edges of a flashlight reflector containing a flash discharge tube are moved to a position between the outer surface and an inner surface of the front cover touching a top surface of the condenser plate. Thus, the camera with a zoom flash device is made thinner.

Camera with electronic flash device

A camera with an electronic flash device has a main capacitor mounted on a flash circuit board with striding over a circuit part. The main capacitor has a capacitor body and a pair of terminals protruding from a bottom face of the capacitor body. The terminals are soldered onto the flash circuit board with securing a space for arrangement of the circuit part between the bottom face of the capacitor body and the flash circuit board. Miniaturization of the flash circuit board becomes possible. Inside a main body of the camera, a battery and the main capacitor are arranged vertically and adjacently each other along a parallel direction with an optical axis of a taking lens, in order to make the camera compact.

A cam plate is disposed horizontally and movably to a horizontal direction inside a camera body. The cam plate includes a plate portion for moving variator lenses of a zoom finder device in cooperation with a zoom lens to vary a viewable field angle of a zoom finder device, and a rack gear formed integrally with the plate portion. The rack gear is engaged with an intermediate gear. A first flat gear being concentric with the intermediate gear is engaged with a second flat gear. Two flash rack gears are engaged with the first and second flat gears. These flash rack gears are formed in a frame holding a flash projector. When the zoom lens moves, the cam plate moves horizontally to vary the viewable field angle of the zoom finder device, and simultaneously the rack gear rotates the first and second flat gears.

A zoom lens device is attached in front of a main body. The main body has a film cartridge chamber and a take-up chamber. A take-up spool is rotatably positioned into the take-up chamber. The zoom lens device consists of a fixed lens barrel and plural movable lens barrels. The movable lens barrels move along a photographic optical axis in order to perform zooming. Rotation of a film motor is transmitted to the take-up spool through a film advance gear train. Rotation of the lens motor is transmitted to the zoom lens device through a lens drive gear train. The film advance gear train and the lens drive gear train are positioned side by side on the lower part of the main body.

A front cover of a camera is constituted of two parts, namely a base member and a cover plate. The base member comprises a frame portion, a grip portion and a support portion. The frame portion is formed so as to surround side faces of a camera body. The support portion supports a part of the inside of the cover plate. A front face of the base member is adapted to be an opening except the grip portion and the support portion. The cover plate is attached to the base member so as to cover the opening. An overlapping portion of the cover plate and the base member is a little so that a thickness of the front cover is prevented from increasing.

An automatic focusing camera has a release button ( ) on a top wall of its camera body, and a release switch ( ) is disposed underneath the release button such that the release switch is turned on by pressing down the release button. An autofocus IC ( ) for calculating a subject distance is placed behind the release switch at about the same height as the release switch.

A camera has a camera body for being loaded with photo film. A feeder mechanism is incorporated in the camera body, includes a feeder motor and a take-up spool, for feeding the photo film. A motor driver IC drives the feeder motor. A CPU controls the feeder motor by use of the motor driver IC. A main flexible circuit board has an upper board portion and a rear board portion. The upper board portion is located on an upper side of the camera body, and provided with the motor driver IC disposed thereon. The rear board portion extends from the upper board portion, is located behind the camera body, and is provided with CPU disposed thereon.

A hook of a cartridge-chamber lid is engaged with one end of an engagement lever to be kept in a closed position. The other end of the engagement lever is engaged with an intermediate lever attached to an upper face of a cartridge chamber. When a photo film is wound up, a winding-up lock mechanism comprising an urging gear, a lever member and a winding-up lock member prevents the intermediate lever from rotating, namely prevents the engagement lever from swinging to lock the cartridge-chamber lid. When the photo film is rewound, a rewinding lock mechanism comprising an urging gear, a lever member, a rewinding lock member and a torsion spring prevents the intermediate lever from rotating, namely prevents the engagement lever from swinging to lock the cartridge-chamber lid.

A dry battery having a relatively heavy weight and a main capacitor are held by a holder provided in a grip portion of a camera. Weight of the camera is biased toward the grip portion. When the photographer holds the grip portion, the whole of the camera is stably kept so that camera movement is almost prevented. Thus, when the photograph is taken in a state that the camera is held by a hand, camera movement blur is reduced. A location of the holder is more outer than a film cartridge chamber so that a size from the grip portion to a taking lens becomes larger. A finger holding the camera is prevented from being put on the taking lens. Thus, photographing is prevented from failing, although the whole size of the camera is small.

A zoom camera has a push button switch that is constituted of a single disc virtually radially divided into sections, and switches disposed behind the sections one by one. The single disc is supported in a center such that the single disc tilts in a different direction when pushed at one of the sections, and returns to a horizontal state by a spring force. One of the switches is actuated to output a signal when a corresponding one of the sections is pushed. The push button switch doubles as a mode setting operation member and a zooming operation member. When the mode setting operation is designated by a manually operable switch, the signals from the switches are used for the mode setting. Otherwise, the signals from the switches are used for zooming.

A camera includes a camera body and a retractable lens barrel. A lens barrier opens and closes the outlet for the lens barrel. A stopper is disposed slidable in the optical axis direction of the lens barrel. The stopper moves forward to lock the lens barrier when the lens barrel is moved forward, and moves backward to release the lens barrier when the lens barrel is moved backward.

An information recording mechanism for recording information onto a film surface from the front side of the film provides a light emitter for emitting, as light, the information to be recorded on the film; a light emitter mounting substrate for mounting the light emitter thereon; an optical stop for narrowing the light emitted from the light emitter; and an optical member for causing the light narrowed by the optical stop to become incident on the film surface. The optical stop is integrally formed with the camera body part, while the light emitter mounting substrate and the optical member are directly attached to the camera body part without substantially generating positional shifts, thereby improving operability for assembling the camera.

Information recording mechanism for camera

A switch for a camera includes a switch button. While being urged toward a flange section of a switch-button holding member by an urging member, the switch button is held so as to be movable in the pushing direction of the switch button and a direction perpendicular to the pushing direction. When one end of the switch button is pushed, the height to which the other end is raised can be lowered. Accordingly, the appearance of the camera is prevented from deteriorating. The switch is also advantageous in reducing the size of the camera.
