A light-emitting device includes a support member that includes a wiring layer comprising a connection portion, and a hole portion; a light source located on a first surface of the support member, the light source including a positive electrode and a negative electrode; and a conductive member located in the hole portion, the conductive member connecting the connection portion and one of the positive electrode or the negative electrode. The hole portion includes a first hole portion, and a second hole portion communicating with the first hole portion. The first hole portion overlaps the one of the positive electrode or the negative electrode that is connected with the conductive member in a plan view. The second hole portion includes a first portion overlapping the first hole portion in a plan view, and a second portion extending in a first direction from the first portion toward a connection portion side.

A light emitting device includes a light emitting element, a light guide member, a reflecting member, a wavelength conversion member. The light emitting element has a light emitting surface and lateral surfaces. The light guiding member is provided on at least a portion of the lateral surfaces of the light emitting element. The reflecting member is provided on the lateral surface of the light emitting element with the light guiding member interposed therebetween. The wavelength conversion member is provided on the light emitting surface of the light emitting element, the light guiding member and the reflecting member. The wavelength conversion member is provided with a recess between an outer lateral surface of the wavelength conversion member and the light guiding member. The reflecting member is provided in the recess.

A method of manufacturing a planar light source includes: providing a wiring substrate including: an insulating layer defining a first through-hole and a second through-hole that are separated from each other, and a first wiring layer and a second wiring layer that are disposed below the insulating layer, wherein the first wiring layer is separated from the first through-hole and the second wiring layer is separated from the second through-hole, and wherein, in a top plan view, the first wiring layer and the second wiring layer are arranged at two opposite sides with respect to the first through-hole and the second through-hole; disposing a light guide member and a light source above the wiring substrate; and forming (i) a first wiring member that fills the first through-hole, and (ii) a second wiring member that is separated from the first wiring member and fills the second through-hole.

A light emitting device includes a light emitting element having an upper emission face, a lower face and a lateral face(s); a reflecting member having an upper face, a lower face and inner and outer lateral faces, wherein the inner lateral face(s) is disposed on the lateral face side of the light emitting element; a wavelength conversion member having an upper emission face, a lower face and a lateral face(s), wherein the lower face is disposed on the upper emission face of the light emitting element and on the upper face of reflecting member; and a cover member having inner and outer lateral faces, wherein the inner lateral face(s) completely covers the lateral face(s) of the wavelength conversion member. The cover member contains a reflecting substance and a coloring substance, and the body color of the wavelength conversion member and body color of the cover member are the same or similar in color.

A light-emitting device includes: a light-emitting element having an upper surface, a lower surface opposite to the upper surface, and lateral surfaces between the upper surface and the lower surface; a plurality of electrodes electrically connected to the light-emitting element and disposed on the lower surface of the light-emitting element; and a resin member covering the upper surface, the lower surface, and the lateral surfaces of the light-emitting element, the resin member having an upper surface, a lower surface opposite to the upper surface, and lateral surfaces between the upper surface and the lower surface. A portion of each of the electrodes is exposed at the lower surface of the resin member. A plurality of grooves are defined in the lower surface of the resin member, each of the grooves extending from a position apart from the electrode to an outer edge of the lower surface of the resin member.

A light-emitting device includes: a structure including: a layered body including: a light-emitting element comprising a pair of electrodes, and a light-transmissive member disposed on the light-emitting element; and a light-reflective member covering lateral surfaces of the layered body, in which structure has a first surface at which the pair of electrodes are exposed from the light-reflective member, and a second surface connected to the first surface, the second surface being a surface of the light-reflective member. A pair of first electrically conductive films disposed on the first surface of the structure such that each of the pair of first electrically conductive films is connected to a respective one of the pair of electrodes. In the schematic top view, the light adjusting hole is positioned to intersect with a first straight line connecting a center of the light source and a farthest point in the sectioning groove, the farthest point being farthest from the center of the light source.

A light-emitting module includes first and second light sources, first and second light guide parts, and a first light-modulating member. The first light guide part includes a first A-major surface, a first B-major surface, a first side surface positioned between the first A-major surface and the first B-major surface, and a first hole portion in which the first light source is disposed. A method for manufacturing a planar light source includes: preparing a structure body including a wiring substrate, a light guide plate including a first major surface, a second major surface, and an inner side surface defining a first hole with an opening on a first major surface side, and a light source arranged on the wiring substrate in the first hole; injecting a first resin material downward through the opening of the first hole, the first resin material including a light-diffusing agent; and curing the first resin material to form a first resin layer on a wiring substrate between the inner side surface of the first hole and a first side surface of a first light-transmitting member.

A method of manufacturing a light emitting module includes: providing an intermediate that includes a light guide having a first principal face and a second principal face opposing the first principal face, a plurality of light sources disposed on the second principal face of the light guide, and a wiring layer disposed on the second principal face and electrically connected to the plurality of light sources; allowing the plurality of light sources to emit light and measuring optical characteristics of the emitted light; and forming an optical characteristic correcting element in the intermediate based on the measured optical characteristics.
