The present invention describes a composition comprising at least one polyalkyl(meth)acrylate polymer having a number average molecular weight Mn of from 1000 to 10000 g/mol and a polydispersity Mw/Mn of from 1 to 8 and at least one ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer comprising units being derived from at least one alkyl (meth)acrylate having 1 to 30 carbon atoms in the alkyl residue. The composition is useful as cold flow improver in fossil fuel oil and or biodiesel fuel oil.

The present invention relates to the use of comb polymers comprising, in the main chain, repeat units which are derived from polyolefin-based macromonomers, and repeat units which are derived from low molecular weight monomers selected from the group consisting of styrene monomers having 8 to 17 carbon atoms, alkyl (meth)acrylates having 1 to 10 carbon atoms in the alcohol group, vinyl esters having 1 to 11 carbon atoms in the acyl group, vinyl ethers having 1 to 10 carbon atoms in the alcohol group, (di)alkyl fumarates having 1 to 10 carbon atoms in the alcohol group, (di)alkyl maleates having 1 to 10 carbon atoms in the alcohol group and mixtures of these monomers, where the molar degree of branching is in the range of 0.1 to 10 mol % and the comb polymer comprises a total of at least 80% by weight, based on the weight of the repeat units, of repeat units which are derived from polyolefin-based macromonomers and repeat units which are derived from low molecular weight monomers selected from the group consisting of styrene monomers having 8 to 17 carbon atoms, alkyl (meth)acrylates having 1 to 10 carbon atoms in the alcohol group, vinyl esters having 1 to 11 carbon atoms in the acyl group, vinyl ethers having 1 to 10 carbon atoms in the alcohol group, (di)alkyl fumarates having 1 to 10 carbon atoms in the alcohol group, (di)alkyl maleates having 1 to 10 carbon atoms in the alcohol group and mixtures of these monomers, for reducing the fuel consumption of vehicles.

Use of comb polymers for reducing fuel consumption

The present invention relates to a transmission lubricant comprising at least 30% by weight of polyalkyl (meth)acrylate. The present invention further describes polyalkyl (meth)acrylates for use in lubricants and also processes for preparing them and their use. The present lubricants can be used particularly in wind turbine transmissions.

The present invention relates to a lubricant composition for a process for reducing the paraffin content of mineral oil compositions, by providing a mineral oil composition with a dewaxing aid, cooling to form a paraffin precipitate and at least partly removing the paraffin precipitate formed. In a second stage, a monomer composition B) containing 20 to 100 percent by weight of at least one monomer that comprises at least one nitrogen-containing group is grafted onto the graft basis in order to reduce wear in lubricant oil compositions. Said graft polymer comprises a maximum of 200 ppm of sulfur while the weight ratio between monomer composition A) and monomer composition B) ranges between 99.7:0.3 and 80:20.

The present invention relates to the use of ester group-including polymers having at least one nonpolar segment P and at least one polar segment D, where the polar segment D includes at least 8 repeating units, and the proportion of dispersing repeating units in the polar segment D is at least 30% by weight based on the weight of the polar segment D, as antifatigue additive in lubricants.

The polymer is a star polymer with 3 to 21 arms and at least 3 of the arms consist of at least 40% by weight, with regard to the weight of the arms, of repeating units, which are derived from one or more ethylenically unsaturated ester compounds of formula (I), in which Rrepresents a linear or unbranched alkyl radical with 7 to 30 carbon atoms, and; Rand Rindependently represent hydrogen or a group of formula &#x2014;COOR&#x2032;, wherein R&#x2032; represents hydrogen or an alkyl group with 7 to 30 carbon atoms. The invention also relates to oil formulations comprising the inventive polymers. The inventive polymers having a high thickening action can be used, in particular, as viscosity modifiers, pour point depressants, dispersing agents and/or friction modifiers.

Oil soluble polymers

Copolymers are obtainable by polymerizing a monomer composition containing a) 0% to 40% by weight of one or more ethylenically unsaturated ester compounds of the formula (I), b) 10% to 99.9% by weight of one or more ethylenically unsaturated ester compounds of the formula (II), c) 0% to 80% by weight of one or more ethylenically unsaturated ester compounds of the formula (III), d) 0.1% to 30% by weight of one or more ethylenically unsaturated, polar ester compounds of the formula (IV), and e) 0% to 50% by weight of comonomer, based in each case on the total weight of the ethylenically unsaturated monomers.

The molar branching degree lies in the region between 0.1-10 mol. % and the comb polymer represents the sum of at least 80 wt. %, in relation to the weight of the repeating units, on repeating units which are derived from polyolefin-based macromonomers, and repeating units which are selected from low molecular monomers which are selected from the group consisting of styrene monomers having 8-17 carbon atoms, alkyl(meth)acrylates having 1-10 carbon atoms in the alcohol group, vinyl esters having 1-11 carbon atoms in the acyl group, vinyl ethers having 1-10 carbon atoms in the alcohol group, (Di)alkylfumarates having 1-10 carbon atoms in the alcohol group, (Di)alkylmaleates having 1-10 carbon atoms in the alcohol group, and mixtures of said monomers.
