A machine tool includes a machine control unit to output control signals to drives for machine elements. A tool which machines a workpiece is thereby moved relative to the workpiece in a position-controlled manner. Arranged in a first region of one machine element is an active vibration damper to damp vibration in a second region of the machine elements as the workpiece is machined by the tool. In order to detect the vibration, a first sensor is arranged in the first region of the machine element and a second sensor is arranged on another machine element or in a different region of the one machine element. Actual values detected by the first and second sensors and corresponding target values are supplied to a dual controller which determines on the basis of these values, a resulting manipulated variable for the active vibration damper and actuates the active vibration damper accordingly.

Vibration damping in a machine tool having multiple vibration detection

A machine tool includes a machine element, an active vibration damper arranged on a region of the machine tool for damping a vibration of the machine element, and a vibration sensor facility arranged to detect the vibration of the machine element at a first point and at a second point of the machine tool, with the vibration of the machine element to be detected being smaller at the second point than at the first point. The active vibration damper is designed to damp the vibration of the machine element as a function of a variation between a first actual value detected by the vibration sensor facility at the first point and a second actual value detected by the vibration sensor facility at the second point.

Vibration damping system and machine tool

An actuator of a machine is controlled by a control device with a controller structure in a normal operating mode and a special operating mode. The control device determines from a position setpoint value and a position actual value a control signal for the actuator. In the normal operating mode, the setpoint values are determined using a utility program, and in the special operating mode by a system program that is different from the normal operating program. In the special operating mode, a frequency characteristic for the actuator is determined on the basis of the sequence of setpoint values and associated actual values, and an evaluation for the actuator and/or of the controller structure is performed using the frequency characteristic and parameters of the controller structure. Depending on the evaluation, a message is transmitted to an operator of the machine or to a computing device over a network.

Automatic evaluation of a machine behaviour

A machine tool includes a first machine element movable in a travel direction and having first and second side faces. The first and second side faces of the first machine element run parallel to the travel direction and are oriented at a right angle to each other. The first machine element is moved in the travel direction in a guideway of a second machine element by a drive unit in a positionally controlled manner. The machine tool further includes first and second vibration dampers which are oriented at a right angle to the travel direction and configured to dampen vibrations of the first machine element in respective vibration directions. At least one of the first and second vibration dampers is oriented to solely dampen a vibration in a vibration direction that is neither parallel to the first side face nor parallel to the second side face.

Machine tool with optimized orientation of vibration dampers

An active vibration damper includes a lower outer wall for placement on a floor, and front and rear outer walls, with the front and/or rear outer wall including first and second receptacles in an outer side thereof. The first receptacle receives a permanent magnet and is pot-shaped to maintain a closed configuration of the front and/or rear outer wall. A primary part of an electrical linear actuator is fixed at least on an inside of the lower outer wall, and a secondary part is arranged above the primary part and acted upon by the primary part. Retaining elements fixed to an inside of the upper outer wall movably hold the secondary part for displacement in a substantially linear manner in a left-right direction when the primary part is correspondingly impinged on. A magnetic back iron yoke is received in the second receptacle at the height of the secondary part.

Active vibration damper, usable in a plurality of orientations

A method and a device operating according to the method automatically generate a control program designed for diagnostic purposes of a production machine or machine tool. The control program is generated using freely selectable parameters and/or machine-specific parameters by an algorithm which defines a movement profile. The movement profile incorporates at least one test run for at least one axis of the respective production machine or machine tool, wherein the at least one test run produces an axis excitation which is suitable for determining at least one mechatronic characteristic variable of the respective axis.

Method and device for automatically generating a production machine or machine tool control program which is solely designed for diagnostic purposes

A closed-loop control device to control a system to be controlled includes a front node, back node, external tapping point, controller and compensating circuit. The compensating circuit has an inner node, frequency filter, front buffer and back buffer. The front node determines a difference; the back node supplies an external sum signal. A setting device automatically suppresses use of the output signal of the front buffer, supplies the back buffer and the back node with a first excitation signal as the compensation signal and detects a first result signal produced by the first excitation signal. The first result signal is one of the control difference, internal sum signal, output filtered signal of the frequency filter or output signal of the front buffer. The setting device evaluates the first excitation signal and the first result signal, sets a parameter of the frequency filter and the second propagation delay.

Closed-loop control device with adaptive fault compensation

The invention relates to a method () for switching between desired value filters () of a drive means () for a machine axis () during operation. An input signal () is applied to the first and to the second desired value filter () for producing a first and a second output signal (). Then any deviation between the first and the second output signal () is determined. If the deviation falls below a threshold value, the first desired value filter () is separated from the drive means () and substantially simultaneously the second desired value filter () is connected to the drive means (). The desired value filters () have different running times ().

Filter switching method for a machine control system

A drivetrain for linear movement of a machine component along a linear guide of a machine includes a motor with a motor-measuring system. A length-measuring system is assigned to the linear guide for determining a position of the machine component. To determine rigidity of the drivetrain, a constant acceleration for the machine component is predetermined by a numerical controller for performing closed-loop control of the movement of the machine component. The numerical controller determines a difference between a position of the machine component derived from the motor-measuring system and a position of the machine component measured at the same time by the length-measuring system during the acceleration phase, and the difference is assigned to the acceleration or to a force required for the acceleration and storage in the numerical controller of the pair of values established in this way and/or of a rigidity value emanating from the pair of values.

Determining the rigidity of a drivetrain of a machine, in particular a machine tool or production machine

A control device of a processing machine actuates an axle drive of the processing machine commensurate with a reference displacement movement, displacing a mechanical structure of the processing machine accordingly. The control device determines an absolute movement of the mechanical structure in space and therefrom, taking into account the reference displacement movement of the mechanical structure, a compensation movement for a compensating mass damping a vibration of the mechanical structure. Arranged on the mechanical structure is a compensating drive which acts on the compensating mass. The control device actuates the compensating drive in accordance with the compensation movement, displacing the compensating mass relative to the mechanical structure and thereby damping the vibration of the mechanical structure.

Processing machine with vibration compensation of movable mechanical structures

An active vibration damper has a damping device arranged on a vibration-susceptible mechanical structure. A force can be injected directly into the vibration-susceptible mechanical structure with the damping device. A damping force which damps a vibration of the mechanical structure is determined by a control device of the active vibration damper with reference to an absolute movement of the mechanical structure in space. A damping drive of the damping device which is arranged on the mechanical structure is activated by the control device in accordance with the determined damping force such that the determined damping force is injected into the mechanical structure with the damping drive. The control device determines the damping force such that the damping force is proportional at all times to the instantaneous velocity of the mechanical structure.

Velocity-proportional active vibration damping

An active oscillation damper has a balancing mass which is movable relative to an oscillating mechanical structure. The control device then determines a compensation movement for the balancing mass based on a determined three-dimensional absolute motion of the mechanical structure. A balancing drive, arranged on the mechanical structure and acting on the balancing mass, is activated by the control device. The balancing mass is displaced by the balancing drive relative to the mechanical structure commensurate with the determined compensation movement. The measured values supplied to the control device include actual values of the balancing drive and/or a position of the balancing mass relative to the mechanical structure and/or at least one derivative with respect to time of the position of the balancing mass relative to the mechanical structure. The three-dimensional absolute motion of the mechanical structure is determined by the control device from the aforementioned values.

Active oscillation damper without direct acceleration detection

An assembly has a mechanically movable element (), by the movement of which an oscillatory system () can be excited to perform an oscillation which has a resonant frequency (f) and a corresponding oscillatory period (T). First of all, a control device () moves the mechanically movable element () at a first speed (v). If the control device () is stipulated a second speed (v) by an operator (), the control device () determines a jolt profile, by means of which the speed (v) of the mechanically movable element () is changed to the second speed (v), and moves the mechanically movable element () according to the determined jolt profile. Said control device () determines the jolt profile in such a way that an oscillation of the oscillatory system () which is excited at the beginning of the speed change is calmed at the end of the speed change.
