The present invention relates a system for the treatment of an exhaust gas of a diesel combustion engine, said system comprising a specific NOx adsorber component, a diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) component, a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) component, a gas heating component, and a reductant injector, wherein in said system, the specific NOx adsorber component is arranged upstream of the gas heating component, the reductant injector is arranged up-stream of the SCR component, the gas heating component is arranged upstream of the reductant injector, the DOC component is arranged upstream of the reductant injector, and the DOC component and the gas heating component are directly consecutive components. Further, the present invention relates a process for preparing such a system and use thereof.

Catalytic system for the treatment of an exhaust gas of a combustion engine

The disclosure provides a monolithic wall-flow filter catalytic article including a substrate having an aspect ratio of from about 1 to about 20, and having a functional coating composition disposed on the substrate, the functional coating composition including a first sorbent composition, an oxidation catalyst composition, and optionally, a second sorbent composition. The monolithic wall-flow filter catalytic article may be in a close-coupled position close to the engine. The disclosure further provides an integrated exhaust gas treatment system including the monolithic wall-flow filter catalytic article and may additionally include a flow-through monolith catalytic article. The flow-through monolith catalytic article includes a substrate having a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) coating composition disposed thereon. The integrated exhaust gas treatment system simplifies the traditional four-article system into a two-article Catalyzed Soot Filter (CSF) plus Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) CSF+SCR arrangement.

Integrated emissions control system

The invention provides an emission control system for treatment of an exhaust gas stream that includes an oxidation catalyst composition disposed on a substrate in fluid communication with the exhaust gas stream; at least one selective catalytic reduction (SCR) composition disposed on a substrate downstream from the oxidation catalyst composition, and a hydrogen injection article configured to introduce hydrogen into the exhaust gas stream upstream of the oxidation catalyst composition or downstream of the oxidation catalyst composition and upstream of the at least one SCR composition. The invention also provides a method of treating an exhaust gas stream, the method including receiving the exhaust gas stream into the emission control system of the invention and intermittently introducing hydrogen upstream of the oxidation catalyst article or downstream of the oxidation catalyst article and upstream stream of the SCR article.

Hydrogen-assisted integrated emission control system

A nitrous oxide (NO) removal catalyst composition for treating an exhaust stream of an internal combustion engine is provided, containing a platinum group metal (PGM) component on a metal oxide-based support, wherein the NO removal catalyst composition is in a substantially reduced form, such that it has an oxygen deficiency of about 0.05 mmol oxygen atoms/g or greater, and wherein the NO removal catalyst composition provides effective removal of at least a portion of NO from the exhaust stream under lean conditions at a temperature of about 350&#xb0; C. or lower. NO removal catalytic articles, systems, and methods are also provided for removing at least a portion of NO from an exhaust stream under lean, low temperature conditions.

NO removal from automotive exhaust for lean/rich systems

A lean burn engine exhaust treatment articles comprising a low temperature lean NOtrap (LT-LNT) composition and methods for their use is disclosed. A lean burn engine exhaust gas treatment system including the lean burn engine exhaust treatment articles is also disclosed. The low temperature lean NOtrap (LT-LNT) compositions can comprise a washcoat layer on a carrier substrate, the washcoat layer including a platinum group metal component impregnated on a first support material comprising at least 50% alumina. The washcoat layer may further include a low temperature NOstorage material comprising a bulk particulate reducible metal oxide. Methods of monitoring the aging state of a lean burn oxidation catalyst in a lean burn engine catalyst system are also disclosed.

NOadsorber catalyst, methods and systems

Described is a process for the preparation of a catalyst. The process comprises (i) providing a substrate which is optionally coated with one or more coating layers; (ii) impregnating one or more particulate support materials with one or more platinum group elements; (iii) adding one or more alkaline earth elements and one or more solvents to the product obtained in step (ii) to obtain a slurry; (iv) adjusting the pH of the slurry obtained in step (iii) to a value ranging from 7 to 10 (v) adjusting the pH of the slurry to a value ranging from 2 to 6; (vi) optionally milling the slurry obtained in step (v); (vii) providing the slurry obtained in step (vi) onto the optionally coated substrate in one or more coating steps. Describes is as a catalyst which is obtainable according to said process and its use in the treatment of exhaust gas.

Oxidation catalyst and method for its preparation

A catalyzed soot filter, in particular for the treatment of Diesel engine exhaust, comprises a coating design which ensures soot particulates filtration, assists the oxidation of carbon monoxide (CO), and produces low HS emissions during normal engine operations and regeneration events.

A lean NOtrap composition for the treatment of exhaust gas emissions, such as the oxidation of unburned hydrocarbons (HC), and carbon monoxide (CO), and the trapping and reduction of nitrogen oxides (NO) is disclosed. The lean NOtrap composition can have a washcoat layer on a carrier substrate including a first support material comprising greater than 50% by weight of a reducible metal oxide; 10 to 30% by weight of alkaline earth metal supported on a second support material comprising a refractory metal oxide and 50% or less by weight of a reducible metal oxide and; and a platinum group metal component supported on at least one of the first support material and/or the second support material. A portion of the first support material may further include 0.5% to 10% by weight of an alkaline earth metal.

The present invention relates to catalyzed soot filter comprising a porous wall flow substrate, a catalyst for selective catalytic reduction (SCR), a palladium component, and a platinum component, the wall flow substrate comprising an inlet end, an outlet end, a substrate axial length extending between the inlet end and the outlet end, and a plurality of channels defined by internal walls of the wall flow substrate, wherein the plurality of channels comprise inlet channels having an open inlet end and a closed outlet end, and outlet channels having a closed inlet end and an open outlet end, and the SCR catalyst is provided on the entire surface of the inlet channel walls and on at least a portion of the surface of the pores within the channel walls underneath the surface of the channel walls coated with the SCR catalyst.

Catalyzed soot filter for use in passive selective catalytic reduction

Provided are emissions treatment systems for an exhaust stream having an ammonia-generating component, such as a NOx storage reduction (NSR) catalyst or a lean NOx trap (LNT) catalyst, and an SCR catalyst disposed downstream of the ammonia-generating catalyst. The SCR catalyst can be a molecular sieve having the CHA crystal structure, for example SSZ-13 or SAPO-34, which can be ion-exchanged with copper. The LNT can be layered, having an undercoat washcoat layer comprising a support material, at least one precious metal, and at least one NOx sorbent selected from the group consisting of alkaline earth elements, rare earth elements, and combinations thereof and a top washcoat layer comprising a support material, at least one precious metal, and ceria in particulate form, the top washcoat layer being substantially free of alkaline earth components. The emissions treatment system is advantageously used for the treatment of exhaust streams from diesel engines and lean burn gasoline engines.

Provided herein are zoned catalysts that utilize components efficiently in that relatively short zones are provided to achieve specific functionalities to convert and/or trap one or more components in the exhaust stream. Highly controlled zoned are formed from one end of a monolithic carrier. The zones have a flat profile such that the zoned catalytic material within each passage of the substrate is at a substantially uniform distance from one end of the carrier. A diesel oxidation catalyst for the treatment of exhaust gas emissions, such as the oxidation of unburned hydrocarbons (HC), and carbon monoxide (CO) and the reduction of nitrogen oxides (NOx) is described.
