The invention relates to a method and a measuring system for measuring a movable object, for example a lateral guide on the transport path of a casting strand in a metallurgical installation. The system has at least one light source () for emitting parallel light beams () and a receiving device () with a sensor field for receiving the light beams. An evaluation device is used to evaluate the light beams received by the sensor field. In order to be able to make the evaluation simpler and faster, the receiving device is designed to generate an image of the sensor field having the positions of the sensors of the sensor field, which are assigned to the light beams not influenced by the object, and having the positions of the sensors of the sensor field, which are assigned to the light beams which are emitted, but are influenced by the object. The distances between the individual sensors are likewise known on the basis of the known resolution of the sensor field. The evaluation device is designed to evaluate the image with regard to the depth of penetration of the object into the spatial area spanned by the light beams, the speed and/or the contour of the object ().

Method and measuring system for measuring a movable object

The invention relates to a device and a method for cooling a roll. The roll concerned can be a roller in a roll stand or a measuring roll. The device comprises a cooling shell having a cross section in the shape of a section of a circular arc, for covering a surface region of the roll (), wherein, in the region of an edge of the cooling shell, a bearing is formed with a pivot joint () with an axis of rotation running perpendicular to the circular arc-shaped cross-section, for pivoting the cooling shell about the axis of rotation. According to the invention, in order to ensure that the size of the cooling gap during the rolling operation or during the operation of a measuring roll is always autonomously optimally set, the bearing has a degree of freedom in radial direction r with respect to the circular arc-shaped cross-section of the cooling shell, such that the cooling shell is mounted in the bearing in such a way as to be freely movable in the radial direction.

Device and method for cooling a roll

The application is directed to a device (') for cooling a roll (), in particular a working roll () for rolling rolling stock (), wherein the device comprises a cooling shell () which lies opposite at least one part region of the circumference of the roll surface for forming a cooling gap () between the part region of the roll surface and the cooling shell (), through which cooling gap () cooling fluid can flow, and a lever () which can be pivoted about a suspension point (), can be pivoted in the direction of the roll surface and is connected rotatably to a first half () of the cooling shell () as viewed in the circumferential direction (U) of the roll (), wherein the cooling gap () can optionally be reduced in size or enlarged by pivoting of the lever (). Furthermore, the device according to the invention comprises a variable-length linear guide () which can be pivoted about a further suspension point () and is connected rotatably to the second half () of the cooling shell () as viewed in the circumferential direction (U) of the roll ().

Device for cooling rolls

The invention relates to a method for to-be-cooled surface of cast material, rolled material () or a roll. Provided for the method is a nozzle, which comprises an inlet () and an outlet () lying opposite the surface to be cooled. Also provided is a preferably single-phase volume flow (V) of a cooling fluid, which is fed to the nozzle () via the inlet () and leaves the nozzle () through the outlet (). According to the invention, the nozzle outlet () is mounted at a variable distance (d) from the surface to be cooled, wherein the volume flow (V) of the cooling fluid fed to the inlet () of the nozzle () is set in such a way that, in accordance with the Bernoulli principle, the nozzle () is sucked firmly against the surface () to be cooled. In addition, the invention is directed to a cooling device () for carrying out the method according to the invention and to a rolling device comprising this cooling device ().
