The instant invention relates to a process for the preparation of an aqueous suspension of anionic colloidal silica having a neutral pH which is stable over time and comprises individualized particles of colloidal silica which are not bound to one another by siloxane bonds. The instant suspensions show high storage stability and are particularly useful for the clarification of beer, for the preparation of cosmetic formulations, for the production of ink for printers, for paints and for anticorrosive treatments.

The present invention relates to a multiphase aqueous cleansing composition for cleansing human skin and hair, which when agitated forms a single application phase, and when left standing, the composition rapidly returns to an appearance having at least two visibly distinct aqueous phases. The multiphase aqueous cleansing composition of the present invention provides an esthetically interesting and useful cleansing composition for use as a body wash, shower gel, foam bath or shampoo. The invention relates to fine emulsions comprising at least one W/O emulsifier and at least one hydrophilic component, and to a process for their preparation.
