An apparatus for combining a plurality of coherent laser beams includes at least N&#x2212;1 phase setting devices configured to set a respective phase (&#x3b4;&#x3c6;) of a respective one of the plurality of coherent laser beams, and a beam combination device configured to combine the plurality of coherent laser beams to form at least one combined laser beam. The beam combination device includes a microlens arrangement having at least two microlens arrays configured to form the at least one combined laser beam.

Apparatus, laser system and method for combining coherent laser beams

An optical arrangement converts an input laser beam into a line-like output beam, which propagates along a propagation direction and which has, in a working plane, a line-like beam cross section extending along a line direction. The optical system includes: a reshaping optical unit having an input aperture, through which the input laser beam is radiated, and an elongate output aperture, elongatedly extending along an aperture longitudinal direction, the reshaping optical unit converting the input laser beam radiated through the input aperture into a beam packet exiting through the output aperture; and a homogenization optical unit which converts the beam packet into the line-like output beam, different beam segments of the beam packet being intermixed and superimposed along the line direction. The aperture longitudinal direction extends in a manner rotated about the propagation direction by a non-vanishing angle of rotation with respect to the line direction.

Optical arrangement and laser system

Methods, devices, and apparatus for generating plasma or laser pulses by radio frequency (RF) excitation pulses are provided. In one aspect, a method includes specifying radio frequency (RF) excitation pulses at least partially as a function of a preceding RF excitation of a medium and outputting a signal to a RF pulse generator, the signal configured to cause the RF pulse generator to generate the specified RF excitation pulses for exciting the medium to generate plasma or laser pulses. The RF excitation pulses is specified to become more strongly reduced in energy when a remaining excitation of the medium by the preceding RF excitation is higher.

A micro-optical element includes a resonator substrate, at least one microresonator includes a rotationally symmetrical body mounted on the resonator substrate, and a light-reflecting element including a ring-shaped mirror that surrounds the rotationally symmetrical body.

A microoptical component for coupling a laser light to microresonators includes at least two microresonators, each having a form of an axially symmetric body disposed on a pedestal, and at least one waveguide for the laser light. The at least two microresonators are disposed on a first substrate having first side walls. The at least one waveguide is disposed on a second substrate having second side walls. The first side walls and the second side walls are fixedly joined.
