It is an object of the invention to provide for a system, method and computer program product enabling monitoring of effects of intrafraction motion during the radio therapy treatment. According to a first aspect of the invention this object is achieved by an ultrasound guided radiotherapy system, comprising a radiotherapy system configured for providing a radiation treatment by means of a radiation beam to a treatment target. The ultrasound guided radiotherapy system further comprises an ultrasound imaging system configured for acquiring a 3D online image of the treatment target and/or an organ at risk during the radiation treatment. It further comprises detection means configured for detection, in the 3D online image, parts representing the treatment target and/or organ at risk and selection means configured for selecting a view plane through the treatment target and/or an organ at risk represented by the detected parts in the 3D online image and a display configured to display a 2D image of part of the treatment target and/or organ at risk along the view plane, wherein the display is further configured to display a treatment margin and/or an outline of an actual radiation beam in relation to the treatment target and/or organ at risk.

Ultrasound guided radiotherapy system

A system for planning radiation treatment therapy is provided. An optical sensor device is implanted within or in close proximity to a risk region within the patient during a radiation delivery. The sensor device optically monitors the orientation of the risk region, and the radiation dosage received by the risk region, during the radiation delivery. That information may be used as appropriate to modify an on-going radiation delivery plan in real time while the plan is being implemented.

System for planning radiation treatment therapy

A method includes planning a follow up three dimensional image acquisition of tissue of interest of a patient based on first and second two dimensional surview projection images, wherein the first two dimensional surview projection image was used to plan a previously performed baseline three dimensional image acquisition of the tissue of interest of the patient, wherein the first two dimensional surview projection image includes information corresponding to at least one region of interest identified in the first two dimensional surview projection image for the previously performed baseline three dimensional image acquisition, wherein the first two dimensional surview projection image includes information corresponding to a z-axis scanning extent identified in the first two dimensional surview projection image for the previously performed baseline three dimensional baseline image acquisition, and wherein the second two dimensional surview projection image was acquired for planning the follow up three dimensional image acquisition.

Follow up image acquisition planning and/or post processing

The present invention relates to a method for use in the concurrent display of medical images from different imaging modalities. A system and a computer program product for use in relation to the method are also disclosed. In the method, a primary image and a secondary image from a different imaging modality are fused. In the fused image, a first pixel group from the primary image having primary image data values within a first range are mapped to grayscale image values. A second pixel group from the primary image having primary image data values within at least a second range are identified, and the secondary image data values of corresponding pixels in the secondary image are mapped to color image values in the fused image.

Concurrent display of medical images from different imaging modalities

A method includes displaying a background image on a display screen. The method further includes receiving, from an input device, a signal indicative of a free hand line being drawn over the background image. The signal includes coordinates of points of the free hand line with respect to the display screen. The free hand line is independent of content represented in the background image.
