The present invention provides a structural characterization platform that can be used to assess the stability of a polyclonal cell line during production, as well as batch-to-batch consistency of the final polyclonal products. The structural characterization platform is based on genetic analysis as well as protein characterization techniques that alone or in combination provides the necessary information to characterize the polyclonal cell line and final products. The collection of different homologous proteins to be analyzed with the platform techniques is for example a recombinant polyclonal antibody or a mixture of monoclonal antibodies.

Procedure for structural characterization of a recombinant polyclonal protein or a polyclonal cell line

The inventors have modified the amino acid sequence of a maltogenic alpha-amylase to obtain variants with improved properties, based on the three-dimensional structure of the maltogenic alpha-amylase Novamyl. The variants have altered physicochemical properties., e.g. an altered pH optimum, improved thermostability, increased specific activity, an altered cleavage pattern or an increased ability to reduce retrogradation of starch or staling of bread.

Method for preparing maltogenic alpha-amylase variants

The invention relates to a variant of a parent fungal glucoamylase, which exhibits altered properties, in particular improved thermal stability and/or increased specific activity.

Maltogenic alpha-amylase variants

The inventors have isolated lysophospholipases from Aspergillus ( and ) having molecular masses of about 68 kDa and amino acid sequences of 600-604 amino acid residues. The novel lysophospholipases have only a limited homology to known amino acid sequences. The inventors also isolated genes encoding the novel enzymes and cloned them into strains.
