Disclosed is a leading edge protection element for a wind turbine blade, the leading edge protection element extending in a longitudinal direction between a first edge and a second edge and extending in a transverse direction between a third edge and a fourth edge, the leading edge protection element having a first surface and a second surface. The leading edge protection element comprising a film layer having a first film surface and a second film surface, the first film surface forming the first surface of the leading edge protection element, wherein the film layer comprises a metal material. The leading edge protection element comprising a rubber layer of a rubber material having a first rubber surface and a second rubber surface, the second rubber surface forming the second surface of the leading edge protection element, wherein the second film surface and the first rubber surface are bonded to each other.

Leading edge protection for a wind turbine blade

The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a plurality of wind turbine blades. The method includes providing first, second and third stationary moulds, moulding respective first upper and lower shell halves, removing and turning the first upper shell half, and positioning and bonding it on the first lower shell half to form a closed wind turbine blade shell. This is repeated for continuously manufacturing a plurality of wind turbine blades.

A wind turbine blade bushing system for arrangement in a root end of a wind turbine blade is described. The wind turbine blade bushing system comprises a threaded element for retaining a mounting bolt for a wind turbine blade, the threaded element being formed from a first material; and an anchor element for arrangement at the root end of the wind turbine, wherein the anchor element acts to at least partly retain the threaded element in the wind turbine blade, the anchor element being formed from a second material. A method of producing a single assembled longitudinally extending fibre layer for use in a later resin infusion process for manufacturing a fibre-reinforced composite structure is described including steps: a) providing a first fibre mat comprising unidirectional reinforcement fibres oriented in a longitudinal direction of the first fibre mat, b) providing a second fibre mat comprising unidirectional reinforcement fibres oriented in a longitudinal direction of the second fibre mat, c) arranging the first fibre mat and the second fibre mat so that unidirectional fibres of one end of the first fibre mat adjoin one end of the second fibre mat in a single plane at a common boundary, and d) splicing unidirectional fibres of the first fibre mat at one end of the first fibre mat to unidirectional fibres of the second fibre mat at one end of the second fibre mat in order to form a splicing joint.

The invention relates to a method of cutting off laminate layers for use in a fiber-reinforced laminate object comprising a number of combined laminate layers, wherein, along a section of the at least one rim of the laminate layer, a tapering cut is performed through the thickness of the laminate layer, whereby the thickness of the laminate layer is reduced. Since not only the number of laminate layers, but also the thickness of the individual laminate layers are reduced, a laminate layer is accomplished that can be used in a laminate object, by which both the issues of areas rich in resin, air pockets and the risk of delamination are reduced. The invention also relates to a laminate layer for use in a fiber-reinforced laminate object comprising a number of combined laminate layers and a fiber-reinforced laminate object in the form of the blade of a wind turbine, wherein the blade of the wind turbine comprises a number of combined laminate layers.

The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a laminate with the formation of underpressure between a mold () and a vacuum foil () and supply of resin from injection areas to the layers of the laminate situated in the mold. The novel aspect according to the invention comprises movement of the injection areas while the resin is supplied, This is accomplished by use of a movable suction unit () which is arranged on top of the vacuum foil and which, by means of an underpressure between the suction unit and the vacuum foil, forms injection areas for supply of the resin, which can be moved by moving the suction unit. The invention further relates to such movable suction unit and the use thereof in the manufacture of laminates.

The present invention relates to a flexible and drapeable core material for use in a laminate or a sandwich construction comprising at least one exterior of an at least partially permeable material, which exterior forms at least one space into which a filler of freely movable, separate objects is filled. The spaces may be shaped like channels, form a square-shaped pattern or a pattern adapted to the shape of the laminate. The invention further relates to a laminate or a sandwich construction and a blade for a wind turbine featuring such core material and use and manufacture of laminates or sandwich constructions featuring the core material. Moreover the invention relates to a method of manufacturing a core material for use in a laminate or a sandwich construction comprising the steps of forming at least one space from an at least partially permeable material and filling filler into the space.

Formable core material

The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing a fiber-reinforced laminate (), which laminate comprises at least one area on the surface of the laminate configured with projecting fibers for being joined to one or more other elements. This is accomplished by arrangement of a hybrid mat () most distally in the laminate which comprises at least two layers with fibers () transversally across the joining face () of the layers. The outermost layer () of the hybrid mat is removed prior to joining, whereas the innermost layer () of the hybrid mat remains a constituent of the laminate (). The invention relates to different methods of causing fibers to project from the surface of the laminate, said fibers thus having a reinforcing effect on the joints. The invention also relates to a laminate manufactured by the disclosed methods and a blade for a wind power plant comprising such laminate.

The invention relates to a method of manufacturing a fiber mat adapted for use in the manufacture of a fiber-reinforced device, said fiber mat comprising at least two essentially longitudinally extending and parallel batches of fibers. Novel aspects of the method according to the invention involves that the method comprises that the batches are joined by holder means that span above or below each batch, whereby the holder means impart an influence to each batch which is essentially symmetrical about an axis situated longitudinally between the batches. A symmetrical influence about an axis longitudinally between the batches accomplishes that influence from one side is matched by influence from an opposite side. Hereby it is prevented that the batch will undulate. Simultaneously the batches are clearly separated, whereby resin is more easily conducted longitudinally of the batches.
