A steering system and a method for steering a vehicle, that has a wheel steering and an articulated steering. The steering system ( ) has a steering unit ( ), a first steering motor arrangement ( ), which acts upon steered wheels, a second steering motor arrangement ( ), which acts upon a converting kit, and a selection valve ( ), which connects the steering unit ( ) with either the first steering motor arrangement ( ) or the second steering motor arrangement ( ) in such a way that a steering will activate either the wheel steering or the articulated steering.

Steering system and method for steering a vehicle

A hydraulic steering system ( ) for a vehicle with two steering motor arrangements, particularly an articulated vehicle with wheel steering, with a hydraulic steering unit ( ) having a measuring motor section ( ), with a selection valve ( ), which connects an outlet (L, R) of the steering unit ( ) with either a first steering motor arrangement ( ) that preferably acts upon steered wheels, or a second steering motor arrangement ( ) that preferably acts upon a converting kit, and which is hydraulically operable via a pilot valve ( ), and with a pump ( ), which is connected with the steering unit ( ) and the pilot valve ( ). This permits the vehicle to be steerable in connection with an emergency.

Hydraulic steering system, for an articulated vehicle with wheel steering

Disclosed herein is a method for hydraulic steering. The method includes supplying a steering unit with a controlled working pressure from a load signal line dependent upon a load signal. The load signal being generated via a load signal fluid having a fluid flow. Also disclosed herein is a hydraulic steering arrangement for carrying out the method. A load signal adjustment device is provided through which the fluid flow can be adjusted to an at least approximately constant value.
