A method for operating a vapor compression system is disclosed. The vapor compression system comprises a compressor, a condenser, at least one expansion device, an evaporator, said evaporator comprising at least two evaporator paths arranged fluidly in parallel, and a distribution device arranged to distribute refrigerant among the evaporator paths. The method comprises the steps of obtaining at least two predefined distribution keys, each distribution key defining a distribution of available refrigerant among the evaporator paths, detecting one or more operational settings of the vapor compression system, selecting one of the at least two predefined distribution keys, based on said detected operational setting(s), and distributing refrigerant among the evaporator paths in accordance with the selected predefined distribution key.

Method for operating a vapour compression system

The invention concerns a refrigeration system comprising a refrigerant circuit which comprises several evaporator paths and a distributor () which distributes the refrigerant on the evaporator paths. The aim of the invention is to improve the operation of said refrigeration system in a simple manner. According to the invention, the distributor () comprises a controllable valve () for each evaporation path.

Refrigeration system

A valve () for a refrigeration system. Comprises two diaphragms () being operatively connected. One diaphragm () is in contact with the refrigerant, the other () is in contact with the filling fluid. The two diaphragms () may have different active areas. In combination with the connection between the two diaphragms () this provides a 'pressure gearing' between the filling fluid and the refrigerant. Allows the pressure of the filling fluid to be relatively low even when the pressure of the refrigerant is high, while ensuring that the valve () can function properly. Particularly suitable for high pressure refrigeration systems, such as COsystems.

Valve for use in a refrigeration system

The invention provides a method of making a component from first and second parts which are joined in a welding process wherein a laser beam is transmitted in a direction from a laser source and at least partly into a gap. The gap is made between edges of the component, and to enable a faster laser welding process, the laser has a focus point size which is at least of the size of the gap. To enable better control of the width of the gap, the invention further provides a method and components wherein one part is formed with a neck which extends into a complementary socket of the other part to prepare the parts for the welding process. The invention in particular concerns welding of brass.

Laser welding process

In an expansion valve a valve body combines an inlet and outlet in an orifice in fluid communication therewith. A closure is positioned in the valve body and is movable between an opened and closed position to allow or prevent fluid to flow through the orifice from the inlet to the outlet. The valve body defines a bypass flow path which is in fluid communication with the outlet and inlet to allow fluid to flow from the outlet to the inlet, a bypass closure positioned in the bypass flow path is movable between an opened position and a closed position so that when said closures in said closed position fluid flowing from said outlet towards an inlet causes a bypass closure to move toward said opened position allowing fluid to flow on a reverse direction from the outlet to the inlet. When the closure moves toward the opened position fluid pressure maintains the bypass closure in the dosed position allowing fluid to flow from the inlet to the outlet. The bypass closure is free floating within the valve body.
