A remotely operated subsea well completion system, which comprises local storage () of hydraulic energy and feedthroughs in a BOP () or a marine riser (), has the object of installing or pulling a production tubing and its tubing hanger without using an umbilical within a marine riser. The system consists of an internal control module (), which comprises hydraulic accumulators (), a liquid divider (), control valves (), an electric control module (), as well as one or more transmitters/receivers () for communication to an external control unit (). The communication may be through acoustic feedthroughs in existing choke, kill or booster ports.

System for remote operation of downhole well equipment

The invention relates to a tool and associated method for making closed operation in subsea wells possible, without the use of cable or coiled tubing up to the rig or ship. The object of this solution is to move such operations to lighter and more cost efficient vessels or ships which are not necessarily required to handle hydrocarbons up to the deck of the vessel. The basis of maintaining two independent well barrier envelopes is met even if the tool and the method for operation does not require cutting functions for isolating the well from the environment. The tool comprises a hoist arrangement, a seal element and connection points. The localization and arrangement of these are essential for the invention. The invention also adapts for use of traditional workover systems as alternative, independent operation, if the new technique should not complete the operation as planned.

Tool and method for closed operation in a subsea well

A closed operation subsea well tool assembly with a flushing system flushing a first fluid in the main bore () of the tool assembly (). The flushing system of the tool assembly comprises a container () with a second fluid, a pump (), a swab valve () in the top of the main bore (), an inlet () in the bottom of the main bore of the tool assembly, which is connected to the pump. Outlet(s) () are below the swab valve, configured to guide out the first fluid from the main bore. A fluid channel () extends from the outlet () and down to channels of the wellhead module () or the wellhead (). Methods using the tool assembly are also disclosed.

Flushing a tool for closed well operation and an associated method

The present invention relates to a riser joint for a riser with a joint connecting two parts of a riser where the two parts are allowed angular displacement. According to the invention the riser joint comprises means for connection to the two parts of the riser at a distance from the joint, and means for adding a force between the two parts. The invention also relates to a method for reducing bending moments in a riser at a connection between the riser and a subsea installation.

Force element arrangement and method

The invention relates a cylinder release arrangement, wherein at least one cylinder is arranged with a piston within the cylinder, and a cylinder head closing off one end of the cylinder, forming a chamber between the piston and the cylinder head, wherein the cylinder is provided to arrange a leakage of fluid from one side of a piston to the other side of the piston, when the piston is in a given position within the cylinder, and release means are provided for the subsequently controlled release of the cylinder head from the cylinder. The invention also comprises a cylinder arrangement with a release mechanism.

The invention relates to a safety joint and a method of operation, the safety joint comprising: a first riser part and a second riser part overlapping in an axial direction and having end connections to be connectable as part of a riser, a release unit, locking the two riser parts together in a not activated mode, the release unit having other modes comprising a partly activated mode and fully activated mode, where the release unit comprises at least one axial extending tension rod connected between the two riser parts, which tension rod is configured to deform plastically before breaking, thereby activating the partly and fully activated modes.

Safety joint

The present invention regards a joint for use in a riser () extending between a floating installation () and a subsea installation (). The joint comprises an inner pipe segment () and an outer pipe segments (), arranged moveable relative each other in an axial direction and connectable to respective riser segments, forming a chamber () between them with a radially extending piston (), dividing the chamber () in a first chamber part () and a second chamber part (), wherein on of said chamber parts () in an initial position of the joint is adapted to contain a mainly incompressible fluid, this chamber part () decreasing in volume as the inner pipe segment () is moved relatively out of the outer pipe segment (). According to the invention the joint is configured with a fluid line connection () from said one chamber part () to the other chamber part (), configured such that the relative movement of the pipe segments () is controlled by the allowed flow rate of a fluid flowing out of the chamber part () through the fluid line connection () to the other chamber part ().
