Method and device for transmitting information between electronic devices, which are able to send and to receive information as well as be in wireless communication connection with each other. In the method an active communication connection is identified and in case the communication connection is active following phases are carried out: the first earlier mentioned electronic device sends automatically the information the user of the earlier mentioned device has chosen as a response to the identified communication connection and the earlier mentioned information is automatically presented by the other electronic device to the user of the other electronic device as a response to the identified communication connection.

Method and device for speeding up and simplifying information transfer between electronic devices

The invention relates to a method for informing a mobile terminal (MT) about the properties of a communication network (NW). The communication network (NW) comprises at least two base transceiver stations (BTS) which form at least two cells (C-C) whose properties affect the functions of the mobile terminal (MT) available in the range of the cell (C-C). The current serving base station is at least one base station (BTS) of the cell, through which the connection between the mobile terminal (MT) and the communication network (NW) is maintained. In the method, the location of the mobile terminal (MT) is determined, the properties of the cell (C-C) formed by at least said serving base station are examined, and information about at least one determined property of the cell (C-C) is transmitted to the mobile terminal (MT).

Method for informing about the properties of a communication network, a system and a mobile terminal

The invention relates to a method for maintaining a first data transmission connection from a terminal (MS) to a telecommunication network (NW). In the method, at least a second data transmission connection is also set up between said terminal (MS) and telecommunication network (NW). In the method, the first data transmission connection is interrupted for the time of the second data transmission connection. Furthermore, in the method, a message for maintaining the first data transmission connection is set up in the terminal (MS) in connection with setting up of the second data transmission connection. The generation of said message for maintaining the first data transmission connection is started in the terminal (MS).

The invention relates to an electronic system for implementing an optimized way to provide information from a first electronic device to a second portable electronic device, and to a method of implementing a virtual noticeboard. The context in the virtual noticeboard of the first electronic device is arranged to be transmitted to the second device located within a geographically limited coverage area of first radio means of the first device, and the second device comprises selecting means for selecting the reception of the virtual noticeboard of the first device. The invention relates to a method for answering a phone call coming to a mobile terminal in a situation where a packet-switched connection is active in the mobile terminal. At least one reference item (PN, UN, GNO, CL ) has been saved in the mobile terminal. The method comprises a reception step, wherein information about an incoming call is received to the mobile terminal (MS). The method also comprises at least an examination step, wherein received information about a phone call is examined in a mobile terminal (MS) for finding at least one item of caller line identification (CLI), and it is examined whether reference items (PN, UN, GNO, CL ) have been saved in the mobile station (MS). Then, if at least one reference item (PN, UN, GNO, CL ) has been saved, a comparison step is carried out in the method, in which step said at least one reference item (PN, UN, GNO, CL ) is compared to said at least one item of caller line identity information (CLI) discovered in the examination step. After that, a decision step is carried out in the method, in which step it is decided whether the call is answered or not. The decision is made on the basis of the comparison performed in said comparison step, if a comparison step was carried out.

Method for connecting telephone calls in a mobile communication system

A. telecommunications system, utilizing rich calling line handling in call setup signaling to forward RCLIP (Rich Calling Line Identification Presentation) data, forwards at least one call setup signal from the calling party terminal of a caller to a called party terminal of a called party via a network upon the caller desiring to initiate a called without RCLIP data. Upon the caller desiring to initiate a call with RCLIP data, the RCLIP data can either be forwarded with at least one call setup signal directly from the calling party terminal to the called party terminal or can be forwarded with the RCLIP data being attached by the network in accordance with an indicator from the calling party, the RCLIP data being stored in a database in the network. The RCLIP data can be presented to the called party immediately upon the called party terminal ringing/alerting.

A system, method and computer program for accessing, downloading, storing, and retrieving information from a plurality of content providers on the Internet using a cellular terminal. This cellular terminal has an information finder to find and download items of information from content providers and store the information in a memory of the cellular terminal. These topics and items of information have a best before stamp associated with them. Upon expiration of the best before stamp, the item of information is deleted from the cellular terminal memory. The topic or item may be automatically updated by the latest edition of the information without user intervention when an update period expires.
