There are provided a piezoelectric element capable of implementing an acoustic generator having excellent characteristics and a simple structure, and an acoustic generator, an acoustic generation device, and an electronic apparatus using the same. A piezoelectric element includes a piezoelectric layer; a first conductor; a second conductor; a third conductor; a fourth conductor; a fifth conductor; and a sixth conductor, and includes a first portion, a second portion, and a third portion. The first portion is a portion where the first conductor and the second conductor face each other, and the second portion is a portion where the third conductor and the fourth conductor face each other. The third portion is a portion where the fifth conductor and the sixth conductor do not face each other, the third portion being located between the first portion and the second portion.

Piezoelectric element, acoustic generator, acoustic generation device, and electronic apparatus

A composite electronic device includes an electronic device; and a speaker cartridge. The speaker cartridge includes a vibration body, an exciter, a first housing, and a first connector. The vibration body has a first main surface and a second main surface. A first space is defined by the first main surface and the first housing, and a second space is defined by the second main surface and the first housing. The electronic device includes an electronic circuit, a second housing, and a second connector. A third space surrounded by the second housing is provided. The exciter and the electronic circuit are electrically connected to each other. The first space is in communication with an outer space via a first opening of the first housing. The second space is in communication with the third space via a second opening of the first housing.

There is provided a portable terminal capable of acquiring sound information successfully simply by being brought near to or into contact with the ear without the necessity of careful handling. The portable terminal includes at least a vibration member having a first surface exposed to an exterior, a vibration element operative to vibrate the vibration member in response to an electric signal corresponding to sound information, and electronic circuitry that outputs the electric signal, a difference in amplitude between individual places within the first surface of the vibration member in a vibrating state being less than or equal to 60 dB in terms of a ratio of maximum value to minimum value of amplitude. A portable terminal can be obtained that is capable of acquiring sound information successfully simply by being brought near to or into contact with the ear without the necessity of careful handling.

There are provided an acoustic generator capable of generating a high-quality sound having little distortion, and an acoustic generation device and an electronic apparatus using the same. An acoustic generator has a vibration body, a first exciter, a second exciter, a first damping material and a second damping material. The vibration body has two surfaces which are positioned with a gap therebetween in a first direction. The first exciter and the second exciter are disposed on the vibration body. The first damping material is disposed on the vibration body and has a first portion which overlaps the first exciter when viewed in the first direction. The second damping material is disposed on the vibration body and has a second portion which overlaps the second exciter when viewed in the first direction.

An acoustic generator includes a vibration body; a first exciter and a second exciter which are disposed on the vibration body; a first damping material disposed on the vibration body and having a first portion which overlaps the first exciter; and a second damping material disposed on the vibration body and having a second portion which overlaps the second exciter. The vibrating body has a value of an average coefficient of linear expansion during a temperature change from 90&#xb0; C. to 40&#xb0; C. set to be not less than a value of the average coefficient of linear expansion of the vibrating body during a temperature change from 40&#xb0; C. to 90&#xb0; C., and set to be not less than a value of an average coefficient of linear expansion of the flame during a temperature change from 90&#xb0; C. to 40&#xb0; C.

An acoustic generator according to an aspect of an embodiment includes a piezoelectric element (exciter), a vibrating body. The piezoelectric element receives an input of an electrical signal and is caused to vibrate. The piezoelectric element is mounted on the vibrating body, and the vibrating body is caused to vibrate by the vibration of the piezoelectric element. The acoustic generator includes at least one pair of two adjacent portions with different stiffnesses in a plan view, and has at least one damper provided contacting with both of the two adjacent portions.

A low-profile vibration device capable of generation of great vibration and a portable terminal employing the vibration device. The vibration device includes: a support body; a vibration member supported so that its periphery is connected to the support body, the vibration member having a first portion which is connected to the support body, and a second portion which is located inside the first portion and is not connected to the support body; and a vibration element whose one surface in a first direction is connected to one main surface of the second portion in the vibration member, bending vibration of the vibration element in the first direction whose amplitudes vary along a second direction perpendicular to the first direction being caused by electrical signal input.
