A vehicle is determined to be in a parking area based on vehicle sensor data. A mapping operation mode is activated based on determining the vehicle is in the parking area. A travel path of the vehicle through the parking area is recorded based on receiving a user input selecting the mapping operation mode. A map of the parking area is updated based on the recorded travel path.

Vehicle path determination

A user trained map for providing driver assistance in a vehicle is obtained by entering a training mode, acquiring and at least temporarily storing vehicle sensor data related to the vehicle's position during training mode while the vehicle is operating in training mode, generating and storing a trained digital map of a parking route at least partially based on the acquired vehicle sensor data, acquiring and storing position information related to a drop-off location and to a pickup location, the drop-off location and the pickup location being part of the parking route, and exiting the training mode.

User trained map for valet parking feature

A system includes a first computer and a second computer. The first computer is programmed to receive a request from the second computer to move a vehicle from a first location to a second location and synchronize a timer stored in each of the computers. The first computer determines a route including waypoints from the first location to the second location and determines predicted travel times for legs of the route. The predicted travel times include a first predicted travel time for a first leg defined from the first location to a first waypoint included in the waypoints and the first computer transmits the route and the travel times to the second computer. The second computer is programmed to determine an elapsed time of travel and predict a location of the vehicle based on the elapsed time of travel and the first predicted travel time.

Determining a vehicle route

A computer includes a processor and a memory storing instructions executable by the processor to identify a current location of the vehicle in a map of a stopping area, collect data to calibrate a sensor while the vehicle is moving in the stopping area, calibrate the sensor based on the collected data, and actuate one or more vehicle components to move the vehicle to a stopping location in the stopping area based on the location of the vehicle in the map and data collected by the calibrated sensor.

Enhanced vehicle operation

While operating a vehicle on a travel path, a width of the travel path is determined based on a map. Upon detecting a presence or an absence of a target vehicle in the travel path, a lateral position for the vehicle on the travel path is determined based on the width of the travel path and the presence or absence of the target vehicle. The vehicle is controlled to operate according to the determined lateral position on the travel path and a speed of the vehicle that is based on the determined lateral position on the travel path.

Vehicle operation

An apparatus includes a robot body, at least one sensor coupled to the robot body and positioned to receive stimuli from a passenger cabin of a vehicle, an actuatable component coupled to the robot body, and a computer coupled to the robot body and communicatively coupled to the sensor and the actuatable component. The computer is programmed to predict an imminent anomalous event in the vehicle based on data from the at least one sensor, and in response to the determination, actuate the actuatable component to remediate the anomalous event.

Robotic apparatus for vehicle occupant protection

While a vehicle is in an off state, expiration of a timer and receipt of a first message from a user device are monitored. Upon determining that at least one of the timer has expired or that the first message is received from the user device, a communication network onboard the vehicle is then monitored for a specified set of fault conditions. Upon detecting, on the onboard vehicle communication network, a fault condition included in the set of fault conditions, the fault condition is then identified as one of transient or persistent. A user assist feature of the vehicle is disabled upon identifying that the fault condition is transient and that a second message was received from the user device after the fault condition was detected.

Vehicle feature availability detection

A sub-area in an area is identified as an authorized sub-area for a vehicle to access based on detecting a first object in the sub-area from first sensor data. Then a parameter of the first object is determined from the first sensor data. Upon detecting a second object in the sub-area from second sensor data, a parameter of the second object is determined based on the second sensor data. The sub-area is determined valid based on determining the parameter of the second object is different than the parameter of the first object.

Vehicle parking navigation

A method includes automatically operating an electrified vehicle in a noise reduction mode, via a control system of the electrified vehicle, if, based at least on noise restriction information and driver history information received by the control system, a current time and a current location of the electrified vehicle are appropriate for invoking the noise reduction mode.
