The present teachings describe a printhead assembly. The printhead assembly includes a first plate and a second plate stacked together. The printhead assembly includes a first adhesive between the first plate and the second plate for bonding the plates together. The printhead assembly includes a second adhesive surrounding an outer edge of the first adhesive wherein the second adhesive has an oxygen migration rate lower than an oxygen migration rate of the first adhesive. An oxygen sensitive component is contained within the outer edge of the first adhesive.

A process where there is deposited on a supporting substrate at least one first polymer layer and optionally at least one second polymer layer followed by treating the resulting formed layers or laminate with a laser.

Lamination processes

A liquid ink transport assembly mitigates the migration of ink dye from one conduit in a plurality of conduits to another conduit in the plurality of conduits. The liquid ink transport assembly includes a plurality of conduits, each conduit in the plurality having a first end and a second end, the conduits in the plurality being arranged in a parallel configuration with at least one conduit being spatially separated from an adjacent conduit by a first distance that is greater than a second distance spatially separating other conduits in the plurality of conduits, and a heater, the plurality of conduits being positioned proximate to a first side of the heater to enable the heater to heat ink being carried between the first and the second ends of the plurality of conduits.

Heated ink delivery system

An ink collecting system has been developed to direct ink purged from a printhead positioned above an ink collecting tray along a stepped flow path into the ink collecting tray. The stepped flow path enables the purged ink to flow from a faceplate on the jet stack, around a junction, onto a lower surface of the jet stack, and to a curved lower flange of a reservoir housing, which directs the ink away from the faceplate before the ink drops into the ink collecting tray for disposal or reuse.

A check valve unit is provided for a high-speed phase change ink image producing machine between a reservoir for receiving and holding a volume of melted ink from a source and a receiving unit, which may be a printhead system. The check valve unit includes a plurality of ball elements trapped between upper and lower housings defining a like plurality of inlet and discharge passageways. The passageways are configured to optimize flow of melted ink through the unit during charging of the secondary reservoir. The check valve unit is scalable as to size and number of reservoirs for a particular application. The unit further incorporates features that simplify the manufacturing and assembly process while maintaining optimal performance.

An elevator assembly for use with a projection device is provided. In one embodiment, the elevator assembly may include a foot extension configured to contact a reference surface, and a substantially planar one-piece bracket configured to support the foot extension and slidibly couple the foot extension with a housing of the projection device, wherein the bracket enables the foot extension to extend and refract relative to the housing of the projection device. In some embodiments, the bracket may be configured to slidably couple the foot extension with the housing via a snap fit connection.

A projection device is provided, wherein the projection device includes a digital micromirror device, a circuit board that further includes a first face and a second face, an integrated heat sink/stiffener; and a plurality of engagement mechanisms, wherein the plurality of engagement mechanisms is adapted to operatively couple the digital micromirror device to the first face of the circuit board and to secure the integrated heat sink/stiffener to the second face of the circuit board; and wherein the integrated heat sink/stiffener is adapted to provide structural support to the circuit board and to draw thermal energy away from the digital micromirror device.

A projection device is provided, wherein the projection device includes a casing, a plurality of electronic components mounted within the casing, a vent in the casing disposed substantially adjacent to an electronic component, and an injection molded, electrically nonconductive vent screen having one or more mesh portions substantially bordered by a peripheral frame, wherein the vent screen is detachably coupled within the casing and secured against the vent.

A projection device is disclosed, wherein the projection device includes a first circuit board, a second circuit board positioned in a spaced-apart relation to the first circuit board, a first connector extending from the first circuit board generally linearly toward the second circuit board, and a second connector extending from the second circuit board generally linearly toward the first circuit board, wherein the first connector and the second connector are coupled together to form an electrically conductive pathway between the first circuit board and the second circuit board.

An elevator assembly for use with a projection device is provided. In one embodiment, the elevator assembly may include a foot extension configured to contact a reference surface, and a one-piece substantially planar bracket configured to support the foot extension and slidably couple the foot extension with a housing of the projection device, wherein the bracket enables the foot extension to extend and retract relative to the housing of the projection device.
