Devices, systems, and methods for dissipating heat generated from an electrical current carrying device are provided herein. The disclosed concept provides a dielectric heat path device that assists in heat dissipation of an electrical current carrying device by transferring heat from one end of the device to another. The disclosed concept also provides systems that communicate heat generated by an electrical device to a thermally grounded secondary device through a dielectric heat path device to dissipate heat.

Loadcenters with an enclosure having an interior compartment and a back wall that includes at least one lance, typically a plurality of longitudinally spaced apart lances that project inwardly toward a front of the enclosure. Each lance comprises an aperture. The loadcenters also include a back pan assembly in the interior compartment. The back pan assembly has at least one latch, typically plurality of longitudinally spaced apart latches, each latch with a leg that extend through the aperture of the aligned lance to attach the back pan assembly to the backwall.

Loadcenters with an enclosure having an interior compartment and a back wall that include at least one lance, typically a plurality of longitudinally spaced apart lances that project inwardly toward a front of the enclosure. Each lance comprises an aperture. The loadcenters also include a back pan assembly in the interior compartment. The back pan assembly has at least one latch, typically plurality of longitudinally spaced apart latches, each latch with a legs that extend through the aperture of the aligned lance to attach the back pan assembly to the backwall.

In-wall mountable housings include a back, top, bottom and laterally opposing first and second sidewalls that form an interior compartment. The sidewalls, top and bottom terminate at a front of the housing. The housing also includes first and second tabs attached to each of the first and second sidewalls. The first and the second tabs have one side that is integrally attached to the first or second sidewalls and three sides that are detached or detachable therefrom so that the first and second tabs can pivot outward to be perpendicular to the sidewalls. When not used, the tabs are flush with the sidewalls or angle inward into the housing. The first tab pivots outward to be spaced apart a first defined distance from the front of the housing and the second tab pivots outward to be spaced apart a second defined distance from the front of the housing.

Housing with wall locator members suitable for electrical devices such as loadcenters

A set of circuit interrupters and electrical enclosures that are configured to permit an electrical enclosure having a current rating to have connected therewith a circuit interrupter having a current carrying rating no greater than the current rating. However, a current interrupter having a current carrying rating less than the current rating of the electrical enclosure potentially may be connected therewith. Such electrical interruption equipment employs threaded studs on bus bars that are of varying sizes and/or are separated by varying distances in order to resist an electrical enclosure having a current rating from being electrically connected with a circuit interrupter having a current carrying rating greater than the current rating. Alternatively or additionally, the circuit interrupter and/or the electrical enclosure may have interference elements that physically interfere with the mounting and/or the electrical connection of a circuit interrupter having a current carrying rating with an electrical enclosure having a current rating less than the current carrying rating.

Circuit interrupters and electrical enclosures with rejection features

Plug-on neutral circuit breakers include an AFCI OR GFCI circuit breaker housing, a neutral conductor with an external end portion extending from the AFCI/GFCI circuit breaker housing, and a clip assembly attached to the neutral conductor at a specific length configured to align with the loadcenter neutral bar location. The clip assembly includes a conductive clip with downwardly extending, spaced apart legs. The legs are sized and configured to clamp against opposing sides of a neutral bar.

Plug-on neutral breakers and related methods

An electrical connector assembly is provided for electrically connecting an electrical apparatus, such as a circuit breaker, to an electrical bus member. The electrical connector assembly includes a contact stab extending outwardly from the electrical bus member. The contact stab includes first and second sides having first and second indentations, respectively, which are disposed opposite one another. A clip member mechanically couples and electrically connects the circuit breaker to the contact stab. The clip member includes a first leg and a second leg disposed opposite and distal from the first leg. The first leg engages the first indentation of the first side of the contact stab and the second leg engages the second indentation of the second side of the contact stab, thereby retaining the clip member on the contact stab.
