A suspension apparatus connected to a wheel of a vehicle and includes a first linkage, a second linkage, a third linkage, a bell crank, and a shock absorber. The first linkage connects to the wheel. The second linkage includes a first portion that is pivotally connected to a second portion of the first linkage. The third linkage includes a first portion that is pivotally connected to a second portion of the second linkage. The bell crank includes opposed first and second arms and a central pivot connection to the third linkage, wherein the first arm is pivotally connected to a first portion of the first linkage. The shock absorber has a variable length and includes a first portion that is pivotally connected to the first portion of the third linkage and wherein a second portion of the shock absorber is pivotally connected to the second arm of the bell crank.

Progressive rate suspension for agricultural vehicle

A flexible frame for a high clearance agricultural vehicle has left and right frame rails, an axle suspended beneath the frame rails, and a suspension system coupling the axle to the frame rails. Left and right vertical mounts are coupled to the frame rails. Upper and lower torque rods couple the axle to the vertical mounts with brackets. The suspension system also has a cross torque rod having a left end coupled to an inward facing bracket on the left vertical mount and a right end coupled to an inward facing bracket on the right vertical mount. Each of the upper, lower and cross torque rods are coupled to its respective torque rod brackets with rotatable joints. The rotatable joint permits angular rotation of the torque rod about its torque rod bracket.

Suspension systems for flexible frame vehicles

An adjustable limit bar assembly for a suspension system includes an elongated member having a longitudinal axis and an attachment mechanism disposed on an end of the elongated member and configured for attachment to a vehicle frame component. First bumper and second bumpers are co-axially disposed on the elongated member and spaced from a plate connected to an axle by a distance, wherein the distance is adjustable.
