Hazardous location compliant solid state circuit protection device () includes at least one solid state switching element (-) and a load controller (). The solid state switching element operates in an arc-free manner to limit or preclude electrical current flow from the line-side terminal () to the load-side terminal (). The load controller includes power converter circuitry () operative to convert an alternating current (AC) power supply input to the line-side terminal to a direct current (DC) power output at the load side terminal. One or more DC devices may be coupled to the DC power output at the load side terminal.

The invention relates to a switch having a switch housing, a number of module-type individual interrupter chambers which can be arranged in particular side by side in the switch housing and having at least two switching contact elements, and an actuating device which closes off the switch housing above the individual interrupter chambers. This actuating device serves to adjust a cam element for the selective establishment of an electrical connection between the switching contact elements of an individual interrupter chamber. The switching contact elements can be arranged in at least two different orientations in each individual interrupter chamber in an explosion-protected manner. Furthermore, in particular the cam element of the actuating device can be arranged differently depending on the orientation of the switching contact elements. This results in a switch with a simple adaptation option for housing installation or front-panel mounting, wherein all requirements for explosion protection are also fulfilled at the same time.

A switching and/or distributing device has at least one receiving housing and a housing cover. Arranged in at least one housing rail region are one or a plurality of power distribution rails which extend substantially in a main plane and are connected to sub-distribution rails. In at least a first plane, said sub-distribution rails extend substantially in parallel to the main plane and are electrically insulated from one another and extend in the direction of at least one housing component region, wherein in the housing component region, in particular modular components, which contain electrical/electronic operating means, are in electrical contact with one sub-distribution rail each. As a result, a switching and/or distributing device is improved in such a way that the arrangement of corresponding components is possible easily without much additional effort even in potentially explosive atmospheres and a plurality of components of different ty pes and of different sizes can be arranged at the same time.

An explosion-proof housing includes at least one metal housing part having at least one of a housing opening or receiving surface, and a support edge bordering said at least one of a housing opening or receiving surface. A cover part covers said at least one of a housing opening or the receiving surface. The cover part includes a peripheral cover edge which is connected to the support edge in an explosion-proof manner such that in the event of an explosion inside the housing, the explosion is prevented from crossing over to an explosive atmosphere surrounding the housing. A plurality of connection points are formed between the support edge and the cover edge. The connection points include interlocking depressions and protrusions. The protrusions are formed by partial melting of the cover edge. The depressions and the protrusions interlock with play in a longitudinal direction of the housing.

Explosion-proof housing and method for producing the same

The invention relates to a protective collar for at least partially receiving an actuating element which extends through a housing of a control unit and projects beyond an outer side of the housing. The protective collar has a base with a through-opening and a first circumferential collar radially spaced from the through-opening and extending from an upper surface of the base in a first direction. The invention relates to an explosion-proof housing and to a method for connecting a housing part and a cover part, wherein the housing is formed at least from a metal housing part with at least one housing opening and/or receiving surface and a support edge which borders said housing opening and/or receiving surface and with a cover part which covers the housing opening or receiving surface and comprises a peripheral cover edge. The cover part and the housing part are connected together in an explosion-proof manner. In order to improve such a housing such that a corresponding connection of the housing part and cover part can be produced in a simple and secure manner without the use of adhesive in order to form an explosion-proof housing and such that the housing part and the cover part have a high degree of connection stability, a plurality of connection points between the support edge and the cover edge is formed as interlocking depressions and protrusions, the protrusions being formed by partial melting the cover edge.
