The present subject matter relates to a method comprising: receiving a radio frequency signal, the radio frequency signal comprising components, wherein each component is associated with a time unit and a frequency unit; selecting components of the radio frequency signal, the selected components comprising reference data; computing, for the selected components, equalization coefficients, referred to as initial equalization coefficients; deriving the equalization coefficients for non-reference data components of the radio frequency signal by interpolating, along at least one of time domain or frequency domain, the initial equalization coefficients.

Modulation method for power-efficient transmissions

Disclosed is a method for compensating phase noise. A symbol comprising one or more data sub-symbols and one or more pilot sub-symbols is received (). A sequence of first phase noise estimates is obtained () based at least partly on the one or more pilot sub-symbols. A first filter is used to obtain () a first sequence of filtered phase noise estimates from at least a subset of the one or more data sub-symbols based at least partly on the sequence of first phase noise estimates. The first sequence of filtered phase noise estimates is stored (). Phase noise compensation is applied () to the one or more data sub-symbols based at least partly on the first sequence of filtered phase noise estimates.

Beamformed transmissions in wireless communication networks

According to an aspect, there is provided an apparatus comprising for performing the following. The apparatus receives a stream of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing symbols and associated cyclic prefixes produced by at least one orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing modulator of a radio transmitter or transceiver. The apparatus divides said stream into a plurality of overlapping processing blocks of a first length. At least one of the plurality of overlapping processing blocks comprises a non-overlapping section having values corresponding to a segment of said stream. The dividing comprises adjusting a length of the non-overlapping section at least based on whether a cyclic prefix is comprised in said segment and, if this is true, on a length of said cyclic prefix. The apparatus filters the plurality of overlapping processing blocks using fast convolution processing and concatenates filtered processing blocks to form an output signal for transmission using the radio transmitter or transceiver.

A method and apparatus comprises acquiring set of input streams associated with a spatial layer configured for a terminal device, and estimating a channel vector h representing a radio channel response associated with the spatial layer. An interference covariance matrix R representing power of interference is computed from at least one other spatial layer in the set of input streams and correlation of the interference within the set of input streams of the spatial layer. According to an aspect, a method comprises: acquiring a signal distorted by the frequency offset; estimating a frequency offset estimate describing the frequency offset; computing coefficients for a frequency-domain filter on the basis of a relation between the frequency offset estimate and a combination of the frequency offset estimate and an index of the frequency-domain filter; and performing frequency-domain filtering of the signal by using the computed coefficients.

Computation of beamforming parameters

According to an aspect, there is provided an apparatus for a radio receiver or transceiver of a first access node. The apparatus is configured to perform the following. Upon receiving data via at least one antenna, the apparatus performs resource mapping on the received data based on scheduling information defining currently allocated uplink time-frequency resources to isolate at least a first data set corresponding to non-allocated uplink time-frequency resources. The apparatus compares the first data set against one or more first pre-defined criteria for detecting interference. In response to detecting interference in the first data set according to said one or more first pre-defined criteria, the apparatus instructs a scheduler entity of the first access node to avoid scheduling uplink time-frequency resources affected by said interference.

The beamforming processing apparatus includes circuitry configured for maintaining, in a database, information on radiation properties of the antenna array and probability density functions for target device positions. The radiation properties of the antenna array include beam parameters and a beam parameter dependent beam gain function. The beamforming processing apparatus includes circuitry configured for calculating cumulative distribution functions of beam gain based on the probability density functions and the beam gain function and based thereon one or more optimal values of beam parameters defining an optimal beam by maximizing a first optimization parameter defined based on the one or more cumulative distribution functions subject to a minimum value of a second optimization parameter.

According to an aspect, there is provided a waveform processing device. The waveform processing device includes circuitry for receiving an input signal including one or more subsequent orthogonal frequency division multiplexing, OFDM, symbol blocks each of which includes a cyclic prefix and an OFDM data block and corresponds to one or more subbands. Further, the waveform processing device includes circuitry for segmenting each OFDM symbol block of the input signal into a set of a pre-defined number of partially overlapping signal blocks of equal length so that non-overlapping samples of the pre-defined number of partially overlapping signal blocks in each set include, in combination, an OFDM data block. Moreover, the waveform processing device includes circuitry for filtering each signal block in each set and for combining the filtered signal blocks in each set using overlap-and-save processing to produce one or more filtered OFDM data blocks for each subband.

Discontinuous fast-convolution based filter processing

According to an aspect, there is provided a waveform processing device. Said waveform processing device comprises means for performing the following. Upon receiving one or more input signals, each of which corresponds to a different subband, the waveform processing device segments each of the one or more input signals to a subband-specific set of parallel signal blocks. Then, the waveform processing device filters each subband-specific set by applying at least a first time window function, a transform-plane window function and a second time window function in this order. Finally, the waveform processing device concatenates filtered signals to an output signal.
