According to an embodiment, a signal processing circuit includes a coefficient accumulator and dual multiplexer paths for handling invalid ADC samples in touch controllers. When ADC samples exceed a saturation threshold, the circuit selects zero values through one multiplexer while accumulating coefficients through another multiplexer path. Upon receiving a first valid sample, the circuit multiplies it with accumulated coefficients before resuming normal coefficient processing. The architecture enables continuous processing across multiple touch sensor channels without buffering requirements while maintaining mathematical equivalence through the distributive property of multiplication.

A method for operating a display includes receiving a horizontal synchronization (HSYNC) signal from a display driver of the display, the HSYNC signal including a plurality of pulses; measuring a parameter of the HSYNC signal within a frame; and initiating a touch scan on a touch sensing panel of the display based on the measured parameter.

Methods and systems for adaptive touchscreen control

In an example, a method of sensing on a touchscreen including a plurality of touch sensors arranged in rows and columns on the touchscreen is described. The method includes detecting a passive touch on the touchscreen and a positon of an active stylus; determining a plurality of locations across the touchscreen corresponding to the passive touch and a positon of the active stylus, where each of the plurality of locations corresponds to a location of one of the plurality of touch sensors. The method includes transmitting a first uplink signal to a first group of the plurality of locations including a first fraction of the plurality of locations; and transmitting a second uplink signal to a second group of the plurality of locations including a second fraction of the plurality of locations, the first uplink signal being different from the second uplink signal.

Stylus sensing on touchscreens

An error detector for a pseudo-random bit sequence (PRBS). A plurality of bits of a PRBS are received in a predictor circuit. A comparator compares two of the bits to predict a next bit in the sequence. The predicted next bit is compared with the actual next bit that is received to determine if there is an error in the actual next bit, and if so, the actual next bit is corrected accordingly. The erroneous actual next bit is replaced with the corrected actual next bit and is then used to predict a future actual next bit. A trigger circuit delays correction during initial operation until the predictor contains a bit sequence in which no errors have been detected.
