A secondary battery provided with: a belt-like positive electrode plate having a plurality of positive electrode tabs; and a positive electrode current collector which is connected so that the plurality of positive electrode tabs are stacked, wherein the positive electrode plate has a positive electrode core body and a positive electrode active material layer formed on the positive electrode core bodies. At one edge side of the positive electrode plate where the plurality of positive electrode tabs are provided, one surface of the positive electrode core body has formed thereon a first protrusion that protrudes from said surface of the positive electrode core body in the thickness direction of the positive electrode core body, whereas the other surface of the positive electrode core body has no protrusion formed to protrude from said other surface of the positive electrode core body in the thickness direction of the positive electrode core body.

Secondary battery

A rectangular secondary battery is provided with: a rectangular exterior body having an opening, a bottom part, a first lateral wall, a second lateral wall, a third lateral wall, and a fourth lateral wall; a sealing plate for sealing the opening; and a flat wound electrode body obtained by winding a positive electrode plate and a negative electrode plate with a separator therebetween, wherein a plurality of the flat wound electrode bodies are arranged in the rectangular exterior body. The flat wound electrode bodies each have: a flat region formed at the center, a first bent region having a bent outer surface and being formed on one end side of the flat region; and a second bent region having a bent outer surface and being formed on the other end side of the flat region.

A positive electrode plate that has a positive electrode active material layer formed on a positive electrode core, wherein the positive electrode core has, on an edge side, a thick portion which has a thickness that is greater than the thickness of a portion of the positive electrode core that has the positive electrode active material layer formed on both sides, and the positive electrode plate has a first region that extends into the thick portion from the portion of the positive electrode core that has the positive electrode active material layer formed on both sides and a second region that is positioned outside the first region in the thick portion. The average maximum diameter of the metal crystal grains that compose the first region is smaller than those of the second region.

Provided is a method for producing a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery. A negative electrode core of a negative electrode plate has front and back surfaces each with a surface roughness different from the other Rz. In a wound electrode body, a wound negative electrode core-exposed portion is formed at one end portion in the winding axis direction. In the wound negative electrode core-exposed portion, the surface roughness of the negative electrode core-exposed portion on the outer surface side is lower than the surface roughness on the inner surface side. A negative electrode current collector is placed on the outer surface of the wound negative electrode core-exposed portion and the negative electrode current collector is resistance-welded to the wound negative electrode core-exposed portion.

Method for producing secondary battery having negative electrode with different surface roughnesses

A friction drive belt (B) includes a belt body () that is wrapped around pulleys in contact therewith to transmit power. At least a pulley contact portion () of the belt main body () is made of a rubber composition containing 30-80 parts by mass of at least one layered silicate selected from a smectite group and a vermiculite group, per 100 parts by mass of raw rubber containing an ethylene-&#x3b1;-olefin elastomer.

In a friction transmission belt in which a compression rubber layer provided to an inner circumferential side of the belt body is wrapped over pulleys such that the compression rubber layer contacts the pulleys, such a configuration that both of a noise reduction and durability while the belt is running can be achieved is obtained. The compression rubber layer is configured so as not to include short fibers and so as to have a surface roughness, i.e., an Ra of at least a pulley contact surface of the compression rubber layer equal to or more than 3 &#x3bc;m.
