Method of producing electrode and electrode production apparatus

A method for producing an electrode sheet includes heating before pressing to heat the electrode sheet to soften or melt binder particles contained in an electrode mixture layer and roll-pressing the electrode sheet heated in the heating before pressing by use of first and second rolls. In the roll-pressing, the temperature of an outer peripheral surface of a first roll with which an outer surface of the electrode mixture layer of the electrode sheet contacts is set lower than the temperature of an outer peripheral surface of the second roll, and the electrode sheet is roll-pressed so that an adhesive strength of binder particles in the electrode mixture layer to the first roll is reduced lower than an adhesive strength of the binder particles to a current collecting foil.

Method for producing an electrode sheet

A method for producing an electrode sheet includes roll-pressing an uncompressed electrode sheet including a current collecting foil and an uncompressed electrode layer formed thereon and made from composite particles including active material particles and binder particles, by feeding the uncompressed electrode sheet to pass through a gap between first and second rolls to compress, and heating the sheet so that the active material particles are bonded to each other and also to the current collecting foil. A first outer peripheral surface temperature of the first roll contacting the foil falls within a temperature range from a binder-resin melting start temperature +5° C. to +25° C., and a second outer peripheral surface temperature of the second roll contacting the uncompressed electrode layer is lower than the first outer peripheral surface temperature and further falls within a temperature range not exceeding the melting start temperature +5° C.

Method for producing electrode sheet

An aerosol including an active material powder, a binder, and a gas is prepared. An electric field is formed between a substrate and a porous electrode. The aerosol is electrically charged. The aerosol after the electrically charging is introduced into the electric field. The aerosol passes through the porous electrode and thereby the aerosol is introduced into the electric field. At the time of the aerosol passing through the porous electrode, the aerosol comes into contact with the porous electrode and thereby the aerosol is electrically charged. In the electric field, the aerosol after the electrically charging flies toward the substrate due to electrostatic force. The aerosol adheres to a surface of the substrate and thereby an active material layer is formed.

A manufacturing method for an electrode plate and an electrode plate are provided. The method includes deposition-layer forming to form a deposition layer in which active material particles and binder particles are deposited on a surface of a current collecting foil and heat pressing to form an electrode layer on the surface of the current collecting foil by heating and compressing a deposition-layer-formed current collecting foil having the deposition layer on the surface of the current collecting foil. The deposition layer includes a first deposition layer placed on a side of the current collecting foil and a second deposition layer constituting a surface of the deposition layer. The deposition-layer forming includes forming the deposition layer in which a content rate of the binder particles in the second deposition layer is lower than a content rate of the binder particles in the first deposition layer.

The disclosure provides a very simple and convenient method for producing a porous material of a water-soluble polymer. The herein disclosed method for producing a porous material of a water-soluble polymer includes a step of preparing an emulsion containing a water-soluble polymer, water, and a dispersoid, wherein the water-soluble polymer is dissolved and the dispersoid is dispersed in the emulsion, and a step of evaporating and thereby removing the water and the dispersoid from the emulsion. The boiling point of the dispersoid is higher than the boiling point of water. The solubility of the water-soluble polymer in the dispersoid is lower than the solubility of the water-soluble polymer in water.

Method for producing porous material of water-soluble polymer

The disclosure provides a very simple and convenient method for producing a porous material of a water-soluble polymer. The herein disclosed method for producing a porous material of a water-soluble polymer includes a step of preparing a solution in which a water-soluble polymer is dissolved in a mixed solvent of water mixed with a solvent having a boiling point higher than that of water, and a step of evaporating and thereby removing the mixed solvent from the solution. The solubility of the water-soluble polymer in the solvent having a boiling point higher than that of water is lower than the solubility of the water-soluble polymer in water. Voids are formed, in the step of evaporating and thereby removing the mixed solvent, by the solvent having a boiling point higher than that of water.

The method of the present disclosure includes: preparing a solution containing a water-soluble polymer dissolved in a mixed solvent containing water admixed with a first solvent having a higher boiling point than that of the water; applying the solution in a film form to a surface of an electrode to form a coating made of the solution on the surface of the electrode; and removing the mixed solvent from the coating by vaporization such that a porous separator layer made of the water-soluble polymer is formed on the surface of the electrode while a plurality of pores are formed in an inside of the coating due to removal of the first solvent. The solubility of the water-soluble polymer in the first solvent is lower than that of the water-soluble polymer in the water.

A manufacturing method of a lithium ion secondary battery includes: forming a first mixture by mixing powder of a first electrode material, which is one of the active material and the conductive material, with powder of trilithium phosphate; forming a second mixture by mixing the first mixture with powder of a second electrode material which is the other one of the active material and the conductive material; forming a wet granulated body by mixing the second mixture with the binder and a solvent; and forming the active material layer by attaching the wet granulated body to the surface of the current collector foil.

A manufacturing method of an electrode according to the invention includes: a process of forming wet granules by stirring a mixture of an electrode active material, a binding material, and a solvent; and a process of forming an electrode material layer on a current collector by rolling the wet granules. The process of forming the wet granules includes: a process of granulating the electrode active material by stirring the mixture at a first stirring speed; and a process of stirring the granulated electrode active material at a second stirring speed that is faster than the first stirring speed so as to be refined to an average particle size of 400 &#x3bc;m or smaller. A stirring time at the second stirring speed is shorter than a stirring time at the first stirring speed and is shorter than 5 seconds.
