The disk drive device includes a base member with a first upper surface and a second lower surface, a hub, a bearing unit arranged on the base member that rotatably supports the hub, a spindle drive unit that drives the hub to rotate, and a wiring member arranged on the second surface of the base member. The spindle drive unit includes a stator core having a salient pole with coil wound around, and a magnet opposed thereto. The base member includes a wire hole through which a wire is placed, with a first opening on the first surface and a second opening on the second surface. A concaved area on the second surface includes a lower slope, axially between the concaved area and the second opening on which a wiring member is arranged. The wire is connected to the wiring member, radially outside of an outer diameter of the magnet.

Disk drive device with hub and wiring member with increased thinness

A rotating device includes a hub on which a magnetic recording disk is to be mounted, a base supporting the hub in a freely rotatable manner through a fluid dynamic bearing, a stator core which is fixed to the base, and which includes an annular portion and multiple salient poles extending therefrom, coils wound around the respective salient poles, and a flexible printed board transmitting electrical power to the coils. A drawn wire of the coil is electrically connected with the flexible printed board at a connection position avoiding a location right below the coil where the drawn wire is drawn.

Rotating device

The disk drive device includes a base member, a hub, a bearing unit which is arranged on the base member and which rotatably supports the hub, and a spindle drive unit which drives the hub to rotate. The spindle drive unit includes a stator core having a salient pole, a coil wound around the salient pole and a magnet opposed to the salient pole. The base member includes a wire hole through which a drawing line of a wire for forming the coil passes, and a concavity formed at a bottom surface of the base member at least partly arranged radially outside the outer diameter portion of the magnet. The drawing line passes through the wire hole and is arranged along the bottom surface of the base member and connected to a wiring member at the concavity beyond the outer diameter portion of the magnet.

A bearing unit includes a shaft and a hub as a conductive rotating body that supports a recording disk. Also, the bearing unit includes a conductive resin housing configured to surround at least part of the shaft to support the shaft and to be able to conduct electricity to the recording disk via the shaft. A disk drive device is configured such that a wall of a base plate is provided with a through hole that guides a lead from a drive unit outside. The through hole is covered by a sealing sheet having an insertion hole. The lead is guided from inside the housing via the insertion hole of the sealing sheet. The sealing sheet carries a curable resin.
