A method of producing fiber-reinforced plastic uses a molding die which includes a resin filling port at one end; a resin suction port at the other end; a laminate body of a plurality of laminated fiber-reinforced base materials and housed in the inner space of the molding die; a resin diffusion medium extending from the resin filling port and provided on opposite surfaces of the laminate body to supply resin onto opposite surfaces of the laminate body from the resin filling port; and a resin suction medium extending from the resin suction port and provided along a side surface of the laminate body on the suction port side to contact the side surface or to have a gap from the side surface, in a state that gas or resin can be suctioned from the laminate body so that the gas or resin can be moved from the laminate body toward the resin suction port.

A preform for the molding of a fiber-reinforced resin beam includes a reinforcing-fiber beam which has been formed from a reinforcing-fiber base made up of many reinforcing fibers and has a cross-sectional shape with at least one linear part and at least one curved part connected to the linear part; and a release sheet bonded and united through an adhesive resin to at least part of a surface of the reinforcing-fiber base along the lengthwise direction for the base. A process for producing a preform includes shaping a continuous flat reinforcing-fiber base having a release sheet bonded and united to a surface thereof so that the cross-sectional shape of the base has a curved part to thereby produce a preshaped object; and bonding and uniting the preshaped object to another preshaped object.

A light-weight, highly rigid, high-strength environment-friendly fiber-reinforced plastic (hereinafter, CFRP) board having a surface quality that can endure long-term use suitable for use in automobiles and the like is provided. A method for making the same is also provided. The CFRP board includes a board member formed from a woven fabric as a reinforcing base material, the woven fabric including carbon fibers; and at least one of a gel coat and a paint provided on the board member, wherein the NSIC value of the surface of the CFRP board is 30% or more.

The present invention is an impact energy absorption member that is characterized by comprising a long member of fiber reinforced resin having a lengthwise direction and a thickness direction, wherein the ratio of the thickness t (mm) of the long member to the length L (mm) thereof is within the range of 1/11000 to 6/1000 as well as the direction of an external force is substantially in agreement with the thickness direction of the impact member. The member of the present invention sufficiently absorbs impact energy from a moving body when collision occurs and greatly increases safety to collision of transportation equipment, for example, a motor car and the like as well as is light in weight and compact, whereby the member can improve resistance against environment and saves energy.
