Provided is an X-ray tube which can perform stable X-ray radiation under a desired condition in a radiation region extending in a predetermined direction. Included are a base plate having an opening portion and made of alloy 426, an X-ray transmission window made of titanium foil and arranged to close the opening portion of the base plate, a flat box-like vessel portion attached to the base plate and inside of which is in a vacuum state, an X-ray target provided at the opening portion in the vessel portion, and an electron source injecting electrons to the X-ray target in the vessel portion. The electron source includes a liner cathode, a first control electrode pulling out electrons from the cathode and a second control electrode restricting radiation range of the pulled-out electrons. At this time, X-rays emitted from the X-ray window spreads radially from opening shape of the opening portion.

X-ray tube

An X-ray radiation device comprises a plurality of X-ray radiation units, each having an X-ray tube for generating an X-ray, a drive circuit for driving the X-ray tube, and a trunk line connected to the drive circuit, and a controller having a control circuit for controlling the X-ray radiation units. The trunk lines of the plurality of X-ray radiation units are connected in series to the control circuit so that the drive circuits of the plurality of X-ray radiation units are connected in parallel to the control circuit. Since the trunk lines of the plurality of X-ray radiation units are connected in series to the control circuit, the X-ray radiation units can be connected to each other and are not required to be connected one by one to the controller. This makes it possible to increase and decrease the number of units without complicating their wiring.

X-ray irradiation device and X-ray radiation source

In an X-ray radiation source, a lid part is fastened to a main part with screws, so that an X-ray tube is secured to a housing while being pressed against an inner surface of the wall part a by a first circuit board. The X-ray tube can be secured stably within the housing by thus being held between the first circuit board and the wall part. The X-ray radiation source uses the first circuit board incorporated in the housing itself for pressing the X-ray tube. This makes it unnecessary to provide new members for pressing the X-ray tube and can prevent the device structure from becoming complicated.

X-ray radiation source

An X-ray tube includes a radiopaque substrate including a window portion, an X-ray transmission window closing the window portion, an X-ray target provided at the window portion from an inner surface side of the substrate, a highly-evacuated container portion attached to the inner surface of the substrate, a cathode, a first control electrode and a second control electrode provided inside the container portion. A shielding electrode is provided at the inner surface of the substrate so as to surround the window portion. Electrons collide with the X-ray target to generate X-rays. Electrons reflected on the X-ray target between the shielding electrodes are absorbed by the shielding electrodes, so an inner surface of the container portion is not charged. The electron emission from the cathode is not affected by the reflected electrons, so a change in target current is small, and thus X-rays of substantially constant intensity can be radiated.

An image forming apparatus has an image forming unit and a feeding unit for feeding a recording material at a predetermined speed to the image forming unit. A reflective type sensor reads irradiated light reflected off of the recording material and an image reading unit reads the light so as to obtain a surface image of the recording material so that a feed control unit can control the feeding of the recording medium so that a moving distance is shorter and in the case of feeding it at a predetermined speed while the recording material is read by the image reading unit. In the image forming apparatus a reflective type determination unit determines a predetermined attribute of the recording material using the surface image of the recording material read by the image reading unit so that the image forming apparatus can determine a kind of recording material based on the attribute obtain so as to form the image on the recording material.

A sensor system includes an LED configured to emit light to a recording medium and a light-receiving sensor configured to receive a transmitted light that has passed through the recording medium after having been emitted from the LED to the recording medium. An emitting optical axis of the LED is away from a perpendicular receiving optical axis of the light-receiving sensor.

Sensor system and apparatus for identifying recording medium

An image forming apparatus in which a BD signal, which is a main-scanning reference signal, and image data are input to an image signal generating unit. Using a converting unit, main-scanning coordinate information, output from a main scanning coordinate measuring counter, and correction amounts, recorded in a correction amount LUT, are referred to, to convert a proper amount of image data. Here, the converting unit performs calculations in accordance with the main-scanning coordinate information, to obtain the image data of correction amounts that differ in accordance with coordinates. The correction amounts are in correspondence with different amounts of driving current in a main-scanning direction. Therefore, laser light emission, which provides a light quantity in accordance with the image data, is controlled.

Image forming apparatus and method of controlling the same

The present invention provides an apparatus for discriminating the type of recording material. The apparatus comprises a component irradiating a piece of recording material with light, a sensor picking up an image of the recording material surface by receiving light reflecting off the recording material, a component converting the picked-up image into image data having a plurality of pixels arranged in a predetermined direction and a calculation component integrating the respective density difference values between a first pixel and a second pixel of the plurality of pixels. The apparatus discriminates the type of recording material based on the integrated value of the density values calculated by the calculation component. Furthermore, the present invention provides an apparatus for setting image formation requirements of an image formation component based on the integrated value of the respective density difference values between a first pixel and a second pixel of pixels.

The present invention relates to an X-ray tube in which X-rays are generated by making electrons from an electron gun incident onto an X-ray target of an anode, disposed inside an anode housing unit, and the generated X-rays are taken out from an X-ray emission window. The anode has a straight main body and a protruding portion, extending along an axis line direction of the main body from a tip of the main body. An inclined surface, onto which the electrons emitted from the electron gun collide, and a pair of side surfaces, disposed in parallel while sandwiching the inclined surface, are formed on the protruding portion. A distance between the pair of side surfaces of the protruding portion is shorter than a width of the main body in the same direction as the distance.

X-ray tube and nondestructive inspection equipment

The present invention relates to an X-ray tube, having a structure enabling capturing of a clear magnified transmission image and enabling increase of a magnification factor of the magnified transmission image, and an X-ray source including the X-ray tube. In the X-ray tube, X-rays are generated by making electrons from an electron gun incident onto an X-ray target of an anode, disposed inside an anode housing unit, and the generated X-rays are taken out from an X-ray emission window. In particular, the anode housing unit has a pair of conductive flat portions disposed parallel to a reference plane, orthogonal to an electron incidence surface of the X-ray target, and so as to sandwich the X-ray target. X-ray tube and x-ray source including same

The present invention relates to an X-ray tube capable of efficiently extracting X-rays of low energy and provided with a structure having excellent durability. The X-ray tube is provided with a silicon foil having a thickness of 3 &#x3bc;m or more but 30 &#x3bc;m or less as a part of a vessel body. The silicon foil is directly or indirectly affixed on the closed vessel in a state that the silicon foil covers the opening provided in the closed vessel, and functions as a transmission window of the closed vessel.
