The gas diffusion layer for a fuel cell of the disclosure has a conductive porous substrate layer and a microporous layer laminated in that order, wherein the microporous layer comprises carbon particles and a water-repellent resin, and has an impregnating portion that impregnates the conductive porous substrate layer and a non-impregnating portion that does not impregnate the conductive porous substrate layer, the thickness of the non-impregnating portion is greater than 0.0 &#x3bc;m and 20.0 &#x3bc;m or smaller, and the thickness of the impregnating portion is 29% or lower with respect to the total thickness of the microporous layer.

Lithium-ion secondary battery and manufacturing method thereof

A nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery includes a positive electrode, a nonaqueous electrolytic solution, and a negative electrode. The negative electrode includes a negative electrode current collector and a negative electrode active material layer which is formed on the negative electrode current collector. The negative electrode active material layer has a first region and a second region. The first region is a region formed on a surface of the negative electrode current collector and contains lithium titanium composite oxide as a major component. A vehicle includes: an electrical storage device; an inlet; a power conversion unit; and an ECU configured to: (a) determine whether the connector connected to the inlet is a charge connector for charging the electrical storage device or a discharge connector for feeding electric power to an external device on the basis of a first signal that is supplied via the inlet; (b) determine whether the discharge connector is a power extracting connector for feeding electric power to a single load or a facility connector for feeding electric power to a facility on the basis of a second signal that is supplied via the inlet when the ECU determines that the connector is the discharge connector; and (c) control an exchange of electric power between the inlet and the electrical storage device with the use of the power conversion unit on the basis of the determination of the connector.

A power supply system supplies power from a plurality of vehicles to an external electrical apparatus. When power is supplied, the plurality of vehicles can select one of a generated-power supply mode, in which an engine is driven and a charged-power supply mode in which the engine is not driven. A manufacturing method according to the present invention is a method for manufacturing a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery including graphite as a negative-electrode active material. A power supply system includes a first controller that, controls an MGinverter, a second controller that controls an MGinverter, and a voltage sensor that detects a voltage generated from a pair of output terminals. The first controller controls the MGinverter according to a target value of the voltage generated from the output terminals, irrespective of the magnitude of a deviation between the target value of the voltage generated from the output terminals, and the detected voltage. The second controller controls the MGinverter according to the deviation. This processing is implemented by an effective value computing unit, effective value PI control unit, and a neutral point output voltage command unit.

A nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery capable of achieving a high battery performance (e.g., high energy density and high power density) is provided. The charge-discharge system includes the vehicle, an electric power cable, a plug-in station, a HEMS, and a commercial power supply. From the HEMSto the vehicle, a request for charge to charge an electric storage deviceand a request for discharge to allow an external electric load to use an electric power of the electric storage deviceare transmitted. When a request is changed from the request for charge to the request for discharge, or vice versa, the vehiclerealizes a charge-discharge stop state in which neither a charging operation nor a discharging operation is performed without directly changing from the charging operation to the discharging operation, or vice versa.

A vehicle is capable of charging a power storage device mounted thereon using electric power from two power paths of an external DC power supply and AC power supply. The vehicle includes a DC charger for converting electric power from the DC power supply into charging electric power for the power storage device, and an AC charger for converting electric power from the AC power supply into charging electric power for the power storage device. A vehicle ECU selects an electric power path to be used for charging based on the state of the power storage device and efficiency of the DC charger and the AC charger.

Vehicle

A vehicle includes a charging unit receiving electric power supplied from an external power supply through a power feeding cable connected to an inlet for charging a power storage device; a discharging unit for supplying electric power from the power storage device to the power feeding cable through the inlet; a discharge relay; and a charge relay. When ending a discharging operation, an ECU outputs an opening instruction to the discharge relay and determines based on the state of a power line during output of the opening instruction whether the discharge relay is welded or not. When starting the discharging operation, the ECU outputs a closing instruction to the discharge relay and does not determine during output of the closing instruction whether the discharge relay is welded or not.

Vehicle and power supply system

A power feeding device receives power from a vehicle and feeds the received power to a load external to the vehicle. A communication unit communicates between the vehicle and the power feeding device. A power supply unit supplies the communication unit with power. When an external power supply has failed, the power feeding device supplies the power that is received from the vehicle to the power supply unit to activate the communication unit, and the power feeding device also transmits via the communication unit to an ECU a specification regarding power supplied from the external power supply to the load. While the ECU follows a predetermined specification to control the power feeding unit, once the specification regarding power supplied from the external power supply to the load has been received, the ECU follows the received specification, rather than the predetermined specification, to control the power feeding unit.

Power supply system and power feeding device

A vehicular power supply apparatus includes a Scott transformer, a first output port and a second output port. The Scott transformer is configured to convert three-phase AC power supplied from a three-phase AC power source into first and second single-phase AC powers. The first output port is for supplying the first single-phase AC power to a vehicle. The second output port is for supplying the second single-phase AC power to a vehicle.
