According to one embodiment, a magnetic recording medium includes a first magnetic region, a second magnetic region, a third magnetic region, a fourth magnetic region, and a fifth magnetic region. The second magnetic region is provided between the fifth magnetic region and the first magnetic region in a first direction from the fifth magnetic region to the first magnetic region. The third magnetic region is provided between the fifth magnetic region and the second magnetic region in the first direction. The fourth magnetic region is provided between the fifth magnetic region and the third magnetic region in the first direction. A first composition ratio of a first Pt atomic concentration to a first Co atomic concentration in the first magnetic region is higher than a second composition ratio of a second Pt atomic concentration to a second Co atomic concentration in the second magnetic region.

Magnetic recording medium and magnetic recording device

According to one embodiment, a magnetic recording medium includes a first magnetic region, a second magnetic region, and a third magnetic region. The second magnetic region is provided between the third magnetic region and the first magnetic region in a first direction from the third magnetic region to the first magnetic region. A first composition ratio of a first Pt atomic concentration in the first magnetic region to a first Co atomic concentration in the first magnetic region is higher than a second composition ratio of a second Pt atomic concentration in the second magnetic region to a second Co atomic concentration in the second magnetic region. A third composition ratio of a third Pt atom concentration in the third magnetic region to a third Co atom concentration in the third magnetic region is higher than the second composition ratio.

According to one embodiment, a magnetic head includes first and second magnetic poles, and a stacked body provided between the first and second magnetic poles. The stacked body includes a first magnetic layer, a second magnetic layer provided between the first magnetic layer and the second magnetic pole, a first nonmagnetic layer provided between the first and second magnetic layers, a second nonmagnetic layer provided between the second magnetic layer and the second magnetic pole, and a third nonmagnetic layer provided between the first magnetic pole and the first magnetic layer. The first magnetic layer includes a first element including at least one of Fe, Co, or Ni. The second magnetic layer includes (FeCo)E. A second element E includes at least one selected from the group consisting of Cr, V, Mn, Yi, and Sc. The first magnetic layer does not include the second element.

According to one embodiment, a magnetic head includes first and second magnetic poles, a conductive part, an element part, and first to fourth terminals. The conductive part is electrically insulated from the first and second magnetic poles. The first and second terminals are electrically connected to the conductive part. The element part is provided between the first and second magnetic poles and electrically connected to the first and second magnetic poles. The element part is conductive. The third terminal is electrically connected to the first magnetic pole. The fourth terminal is electrically connected to the second magnetic pole. A first magnetic pole temperature in a first state is higher than a second magnetic pole temperature of the second magnetic pole in the first state. A first current is supplied between the first and second terminals in the first state.

In the second transition operation, the second state is configured to transit to the first state. The first magnetic field includes a first component in a first orientation from the first magnetic layer to the second magnetic layer. The second magnetic field includes a second component in a second orientation from the second magnetic layer to the first magnetic layer.

According to one embodiment, a magnetic head includes a first magnetic pole, a second magnetic pole, and a magnetic element provided between the first and the second magnetic poles. The magnetic element includes first to fifth magnetic layers, and first to sixth non-magnetic layers. The sixth non-magnetic layer is provided between the fifth magnetic layer and the second magnetic pole. The sixth non-magnetic layer includes at least one selected from the group consisting of Ru, Ir, Ta, Rh, Pd, Pt and W.

According to one embodiment, a magnetic head includes a first magnetic pole, a second magnetic pole, and a magnetic element provided between the first and the second magnetic poles. The magnetic element includes first to fifth magnetic layers. A differential electric resistance of the magnetic element when a voltage between the first magnetic pole and the second magnetic pole being changed includes a first positive peak and a second positive peak. The voltage corresponding to the first positive peak is a first positive peak voltage. The voltage corresponding to the second positive peak is a second positive peak voltage. The second positive peak voltage is higher than the first positive peak voltage. An element voltage applied between the first magnetic pole and the second magnetic pole in a recording operation is higher than the second positive peak voltage.

The first magnetic part includes a magnetic material including at least one of first to third materials. The first material includes at least one selected from the group consisting of MnSn, MnGe and MnGa. The second material includes at least one selected from the group consisting of a cubic or tetragonal compound including Mn and Ni, a cubic alloy including γ-phase Mn, and a cubic alloy including Fe. The third material includes an antiferromagnet.

According to one embodiment, a magnetic head includes a first magnetic pole, a second magnetic pole, and a stacked body. The first magnetic pole includes a first face and a second face crossing the first face. The second face includes a first face region continuous with the first face. The second magnetic pole includes a third face and a fourth face crossing the third face, and the fourth face includes a second face region that is continuous with the third face. The first face and the third face are along the third direction. The stacked body is provided between the first face region and the second face region. The stacked body includes a first magnetic layer, and a second magnetic layer provided between the first magnetic layer and the second face region. The second magnetic layer includes a second magnetic layer face facing the second face region.
