An image processing apparatus includes a generation unit and a display control unit. The generation unit generates a subtraction image using a first region and a second region, the first region being a portion of a first fundus image acquired by performing autofluorescence imaging on a fundus of an eye to be inspected, the second region being a portion of a second fundus image acquired by performing autofluorescence imaging on the fundus of the eye to be inspected at a time different from that of the first fundus image and being at a position corresponding to the first region. The display control unit causes a display unit to display an image generated by superimposing information regarding the subtraction image at a position corresponding to the first and second regions on a fundus image acquired by performing autofluorescence imaging on the fundus.

A focusing unit can be inserted into and removed from an illumination light path by rotating around a supporting portion. An index light source, a green LED, is attached to the bottom of a base. A transparent acrylic-resin disk is fixed to the base. A deflection prism is attached to the bottom of the disk. A beam from the light source enters the deflection prism. A focus index forming portion is provided on the top of the disk. In the center of a light-shielding portion is formed a slit-like opening, under which split prisms are provided. Deflected by the prisms, the beam from the light source is split into two, right-half and left-half, directional beams, and combined with an illumination optical system, in the form of two slit images, at the opening.

There is disclosed an ophthalmic apparatus including a detection unit which detects a vision fixation state of an eye to be examined, a projection unit which projects a fixation mark onto a fundus of the eye, and a fixation mark control unit which controls the projection unit. The projection unit includes a changing unit which changes a fixation mark to be projected onto the fundus, and when a vision fixation state detected by the detection unit does not satisfy a predetermined criterion, the fixation mark control unit controls the changing unit to change a fixation mark to be projected onto the fundus.
