Current-driven light-emitting display apparatus and method of producing the same

An electroluminescent device including a substrate, a transistor disposed above the substrate, the transistor including a gate electrode, a silicon film opposing the gate electrode, and a gate insulating film between the gate electrode and the silicon film. The electroluminescent device including a first interlayer insulation film covering the transistor, a second interlayer insulation film disposed above the first interlayer insulation film, and a pixel electrode disposed above the second interlayer insulation film and electrically connected to the transistor. The electroluminescent device including an organic EL layer disposed between the pixel electrode and a counter electrode, and a capacitor including a first electrode formed by the same material as the silicon film and a second electrode formed by the same material as the gate electrode.

The invention provides a transflective liquid crystal device and an electronic apparatus using the same which do not cause a non-uniformity in the substrate gap, even though a layer-thickness adjusting layer is formed so that the layer thickness balance of a liquid crystal layer between a transmission display region and a reflection display region is optimized thereby. Below a counter electrode of a counter substrate of a transflective liquid crystal device, a color filter for transmission display, being thin and having a wide chromaticity region, is formed in a transmission display region, and a color filter for reflection display, being thick and having a narrow chromaticity region, is formed in a reflection display region. Further, the interval between a TFT array substrate and the counter substrate is adjusted by a columnar protrusion formed on the TFT array substrate, and a gap material is not dispersed between the TFT array substrate and the counter substrate.

Transflective liquid crystal device and electronic apparatus using the same

An organic EL display device driven by thin-film transistors is disclosed, wherein for suppressing the deterioration with time of thin-film transistors, at least one of the thin-film transistors, or a second thin-film transistor is formed of a p-channel type thin-film transistor. The p-channel type thin-film transistor has been formed in the same step of process as the thin-film transistors in built-in drive circuits.

The invention provides a liquid crystal display device having a transmissive display region and a reflective display region in one dot region, and capable of obtaining a bright and high-contrast display in both a reflective display and a transmissive display. In particular, a liquid crystal display device according to the present invention can include a reflective display region and a transmissive display region provided in one dot region, and a reflection layer provided in the reflective display region. A pixel electrode, a TFT element for driving the pixel electrode, a capacitive electrode connected to the pixel electrode, an electrode part arranged to oppose the capacitive electrode via an insulating layer are formed in the dot region. Further, in the display regions within the dot region, the capacitive electrode or the capacitive line can be arranged at a position where it overlaps, in plan view, the inclined region between the reflective display region and the transflective display region.

Liquid crystal display device, method for manufacturing the same, and electronic apparatus

The invention provides a transflective liquid crystal device and an electronic apparatus using the same to display images with a sufficient quantity of light in their use, even though a color filter for transmission display and a color filter for reflection display are formed in a pixel. On the surface of a counter substrate in a transflective liquid crystal device, a color filter for transmission display, with a wide chromaticity region, is formed in a transmission display region of the lower layer of the counter electrode, and a color filter for reflection display with a narrow chromaticity region is formed in a reflection display region. A boundary portion of the color filters is located inside the reflection display region.

The invention provides a transflective liquid crystal display device capable of obtaining a high contrast display in a transmissive display and a reflective display. In particular, in a liquid crystal display device according to the invention, a reflective display region and a transmissive display region can be formed in one pixel region, a reflection layer is provided on an array substrate in the reflective display region, an inclined region, in which the thickness of a liquid crystal layer varies consecutively between the transmissive display region and the reflective display region, is provided between the transmissive display region and the reflective display region, an edge of the inclined region at the transmissive display region side being formed in a plane region of the reflection layer, a first color material layer is formed in the reflective display region, and a second color material layer is formed in the inclined region and the transmissive display region, the degree of coloration of the second color material layer being higher than that of the first color material layer. The first color material layer and the second color material layer may overlap each other in the plane region of the inclined region.
