An automotive lamp includes a first lamp unit, a second lamp unit, and a third lamp unit. The first lamp unit illuminates a first region having its longitudinal direction in the horizontal direction and having its upper edge defining a horizontal cutoff line in the low-beam mode and the high-beam mode. The second lamp unit illuminates a second region having its longitudinal direction in an oblique direction inclined with respect to the horizontal direction and having its upper edge defining an oblique cutoff line in the low-beam mode and the high-beam mode. The third lamp unit illuminates a third region having its longitudinal direction in an oblique direction inclined with respect to the horizontal direction and having its lower edge parallel to the oblique cutoff line.

Automotive lamp

A lamp unit including a light emitting element, a lighting circuit, a substrate, and a heat dissipation member. The substrate includes a substrate main body, an external connector insertion portion, and a light emitting element installation portion, the heat dissipation member being provided in the substrate main body. The lighting circuit is mounted on the substrate main body, the lighting circuit being electrically connected with the light emitting element. The light emitting element is mounted on the substrate main body via the light emitting element installation portion, in a state of being in contact with the heat dissipation member.

Lamp unit

A first light emitting unit includes M (M≥2) first light emitting elements provided in series. A second light emitting unit including N (N<M) second light emitting elements and a switching transistor are provided on a path parallel to the first light emitting unit. A constant-current driver is connected in series to both the first light emitting unit and the second light emitting unit, and generates a drive current. A drive circuit includes a capacitor provided between a gate and a drain of the switching transistor, and causes the gate of the switching transistor to generate a drive signal according to a switching signal.

Light source module and lighting circuit

A semiconductor light source and a constant current circuit are arranged in series between an input terminal and a ground terminal. When an input voltage at the input terminal exceeds a predetermined threshold voltage, a load dump circuit cuts off or reduces a current that flows through the constant current circuit.

Vehicle lamp

An automotive lamp includes a temperature-sensing element having an electrical state that changes according to the temperature T of a semiconductor light source, and a constant current driver that generates a driving current Ithat corresponds to the temperature T. The maximum value of the temperature differential of the driving current Iin a first temperature range from a reference temperature Tto a first temperature T(T>T) is smaller than the maximum value of the temperature differential of the driving current Iin a second temperature range from the first temperature Tto a second temperature T(T>T).

Lighting circuit

A light source module is switchable between a high beam and a low beam, and is mounted on a vehicle. A first light source is arranged such that its output light is irradiated to a low-beam region by a first optical system. A second light source is arranged such that its output light is irradiated to a high-beam region by a second optical system. A lighting circuit supplies a driving current to the first light source in response to a turn-on instruction for either the high beam or the low beam. Furthermore, the lighting circuit supplies the output current to the second light source in response to a turn-on instruction for the high beam.

Light source module

There is provided a rear sign lamp capable of enhancing safety. An LED string () includes four LEDs (_to_) connected in series. An LED driver circuit () receives a battery voltage (V) and supplies a drive current (I) stabilized at a target current (I) to the LED string (). A bypass circuit () is provided in parallel with a bypassed portion () including two adjacent LEDs (_and_) of the LED string (), and sinks a bypass current (I) according to a battery voltage (V).

An automotive lamp includes a first semiconductor light source and a second semiconductor light source configured to emit different colors, and to mix the two colors, so as to generate mixed-color light. A first driving circuit supplies a first driving current stabilized to a first target amount to the first semiconductor light source. A second driving circuit supplies a second driving current stabilized to a second target amount to the second semiconductor light source. Upon detecting an abnormal non-lighting state in the first semiconductor light source, the first abnormal state detection circuit stops the operation of the second driving circuit. Upon detecting an abnormal non-lighting state in the second semiconductor light source, the second abnormal state detection circuit stops the operation of the first driving circuit.

Lighting circuit for automotive lamp

A scanning light source includes a light source, and scans the output light of the light source ahead of a lamp. A control apparatus controls the lighting on/off state of the semiconductor light source in synchronization with the scanning operation of the scanning light source. The control apparatus judges the presence or absence of an abnormal state with at least one from among (i) a timing immediately before switching from a lighting-on state to a lighting-off state and (ii) a timing immediately before switching from a lighting-off state to a lighting-on state as a judgment timing.

A light-emitting module includes: a semiconductor light-emitting element; a circuit board on which a lighting control circuit configured to perform control to turn on and off the semiconductor light-emitting element is provided; and an element metal plate on which the semiconductor light-emitting element is mounted. The circuit board is a resin substrate in which a wiring portion connecting the semiconductor light-emitting element and the lighting control circuit is provided.

Light-emitting module

A lighting circuit turns on a plurality of semiconductor light sources. Multiple current sources are each coupled to a corresponding semiconductor light source. A switching converter supplies a driving voltage Vacross each of multiple series connection circuits each formed of the semiconductor light source and the current source. A converter controller employing a ripple control method turns on a switching transistor of the switching converter in response to a voltage across any one of the multiple current sources decreasing to a bottom limit voltage.

Lighting circuit of automotive lamp

A lighting circuit turns on multiple semiconductor light sources. Multiple current sources are each coupled in series with a corresponding one from among the semiconductor light sources. A switching converter supplies a driving voltage Vacross each of multiple series connection circuits formed of the multiple semiconductor light sources and the multiple current sources. A converter controller controls a switching transistor of the switching converter based on a relation between a voltage across one from among the multiple current sources and a reference voltage having a positive correlation with the temperature T.
