An adhesive tube, a composite tube comprising a heat-shrinkable tube having on the inner surface thereof the adhesive tube, and a method for sealing an object having an uneven surface comprising the steps of: inserting the object in the composite tube and then heating the composite tube. The adhesive tube comprises a double-layered thermoplastic resin layer comprising an outer layer and an inner layer, the outer layer having a melt index smaller than that of the inner layer.

Adhesive tube composite tube and method for sealing using the same

The invention relates to a multi-layer foam heat-shrinkable tube comprising a hot-melt adhesive layer as the innermost layer, at least one non-foam layer and at least one foam layer provided on an outside surface of the hot-melt adhesive layer. The invention also relates to a method for producing a multi-layer foam heat-shrinkable tube comprising extruding a hot-melt adhesive layer as the inner most layer, at least one non-foam layer, and at least one foam layer to form a multi-layer foam tube, heating and expanding the inner diameter of the multi-layer foam tube, and cooling the expanded multi-layer tube while an inner diameter of the tube at the expanded state is maintained. The non-foam layers and foam layers can be provided in any number and any order. The multi-layered foam heat-shrinkable tube easily adheres to and covers the surface of an article such as a metal pipe, a metal rod, or the like, and provides good heat and electrical insulation, corrosion resistance, water-resistance, and so on, to thereby protect the article. The tensile strength of the multi-layer foam heat-shrinkable tube is not lessened even if the foaming ratio of a foam layer is made high.

Heat-shrinkable two-layer tubing comprising (a) an outer layer comprising a crosslinked resin composition comprising a fluorine-containing resin containing a vinylidene fluoride unit as a base polymer and a polyfunctional monomer containing at least two unsaturated double bonds in the molecule thereof, and (b) an inner layer having provided on the inner wall of the outer layer comprising a fluorine-containing resin composition. The tubing is excellent in heat resistance and chemical resistance and exerts an excellent sealing effect on heating.

Heat-shrinkable tubing and process for producing the same

A method of manufacturing a heat-shrinkable foam tube, wherein a two-layer tube, having a foaming agent outer layer and non-foaming inner layer, is extruded and heated simultaneously to activate the foaming agent. This process condenses the two steps of extruding and foaming into one step and results in a tube which can be manufactured to exact and consistent standards and be shrunk onto a pipe at a low temperature in a short period of time.
